    Name: Tara

    Location: Alabama!

    Self-described political leaning: Conservative

TTC Status or Children: son-14, daughter -11 1/2, daughter -2 we're finished though. but i would SOOOOOOOO love to foster and/or adopt one day SOON hopefully.

Most important political issue: i can't sum it up in one word but it's my belief that we've gotten too politically correct for our own good. we're scared to call a spade a spade. if you wanna eat, you better be willing to work! ( i am concerned about gun control, abortion, taxes, religion, etc. though also)

One fun fact about yourself: a little "tara trivia"---i have had a pen pal since the 6th grade. she's originally from davis, ca. living in NY now. we've never met in person. we've been writing, calling, emailing since 1981! that's 27 years!

Sorry I am late on this.... I have been more of a lurker on the board than anything. (Think I've posted once or twice in the last 2-3 years before this week.)

Name: MsLulu (sorry, I don't use my real name on the internet much, I like my privacy)
    Location: Fort Collins, Colorado
Self-described political leaning: I'm really pretty middle of the ground. I do lean right, though.

I'm definitely all for helping the poor/welfare, etc (though the system is really not working well now--too exploitable.) I'm all for education, 100%. I believe that the arts are as necessary for our mental/spirital health as math/science. I believe in the right to bear arms. I want less government, less taxes. I'm not at all for the death penalty, but I also lean very far to the "pro-life" side of things (I do think abortion should be legal, but under very very extreme circumstances.) Even then, I consider it murder. I still struggle with that one, personally, but it's my own cross to bear.

I think the whole global warming thing is ludicrous. Not that it doesn't exist, but I don't believe we are contributing to it as many "specialists" and "scientists" say we are. For every scientist that says we are the cause, I can find at least one that says we are not. I'm all for treating Mother Earth with respect, but I also don't want to be shamed into acting when the proof is still not out there.

I actually think Obama will make a good president and I would have voted for him (had I not moved to another county during this strange "window" that made it nearly impossible for me to register.) I thought McCain was ok, but I felt our country needed the change and my political wants/desires were outweighed by the country's health. I do think he will be watched like a hawk, though, but all presidents should be.

TTC Status or Children: I have one daughter - 19 months. (Part of the July 2007 board)
Most important political issue: corruption in office (of any party.) I want a clean government.

One fun fact about yourself: I volunteer at a correctional facility--teaching incarcerated women creative writing. It's awesome.

    Name: Fergy
    Location: "The South"
    Self-described political leaning: LIBERTARIAN!
TTC Status or Children: 2 Children and done
Most important political issue: I can only pick one? I'm very passionate about Civil Rights and Liberties. I'm for abolishing the 16th amendment and having very low taxes or none at all.

One fun fact about yourself: I've contributed to speeches for Ron Paul.

Self-described political leaning: I wish I knew. I think I lean to the right, but I have leftie tendencies. So, I'm more independent (but that board is dead and like I said, I'm more of a republican than a democrat).
TTC Status or Children: 5 y.o. dd Ashlyn and almost-2 y.o. ds Nicholas
Most important political issue: Morals. I think it's political, what can I say. Every decision any one ever makes depends on morals.

One fun fact about yourself: I can make my tongue do this (and no that's not my tongue) ...
    Name: Raechel
    Location: SC
Self-described political leaning: Right-leaning Conservative, Libertarian, Constitutionalist, basically that "persuasion" I abhor labels lately however...

    TTC Status or Children: 5 kids, ages 7, 5.5, 3y8m, 2.5, and 2mos

Most important political issue: Abortion...without life, there is no liberty or pursuit of happiness, and, therefore, no Constitution! Currently followed in a close second by health care "reform" for the same logic.

One fun fact about yourself: I am an oddity among oddities, medically speaking. One child was born with a heart condition (since outgrown, treated like an allergy to stimulants), one child with undiagnosed metabolic issues-mito defect testing pending, and I stand vehemently opposed to any of the government's ideas on how to "improve" health care.

Oh, and MIL can do that with her tongue....
