Any ideas on how I can earn some extra money from home?

I've had to use credit cards the past two weeks for groceries and our account are empty Sad I'm a sahm and I don't want to go back to work yet. Any ideas how I can find a job I can do from home? There are all these ads for different things but I'm afraid of them, anyone have any success stories or advice?

I am in the same boat right now as well. We just moved and lost about 1500 a month in dh's pay. Although the cost of living here is much lower, we are still hurting. I have not been able to find much work at home information that is actually "real" work. Right now I am looking for a job that is on a different shift than dh, so we don't have to worry about day care for the kids. I hope it all works out for you!

You could get a job outside of the home when your husband is home with the baby for a while.

Hi Ladies,

I used to post on these boards when I was pg and right after my 1st son was born.... but I haven't been on in a long time! I now have 2 boys ages 3 and 16 months.... leaving me little time to do anything else.
Anyway... I noticed that you are looking for ways to generate extra income while working from home. I started back to work about 4 months ago and decided to only work 3 days a week. I too was looking for a work-at-home opportunity but there are so many scams out there... I didn't know where to start. I finally came across an opportunity that I was quite interested in and recent joined. It has low start-up fee/cost and can be very lucrative. You can work from home, etc. and set your own schedule, etc. If you would like more information, please feel free to email me at erin01_consultant@yahoo.ca

Cheers,
Erin

To PAYING to work, is a scam. Would you pay for an employer to hire u outside ur home? Work shouldnt be that way, imo. I use wahm.com as a useful tool.

I recently applied, and have done an automated interview so far waiting for my status on it for Teletech. If you google it, and then go to careers you can research it yourself. Its working at home answering CS phone calls 20hrs a wk, part time. $9hr for daytime, and more if you pick a night schedule. Sadly its only a few states that they are taking apps for, so I'd highly check it out if I were you Smile

I wanted to add that there is:

www.liveops.com

and another one called dc direct but I don't know their website.

and if you know how to transcribe you can work for www.speak-write.com

Check the forums at www.wahm.com my sister belongs there and that's how she's found out about these jobs. She works for West right now. (http://www.west.com/)

The only thing she doesn't like about these jobs is the upsells. You do have to read their scripts exactly as written which includes the upselling, every page of it Sad

Every ad I've seen for medical transcription on a WAHM site is a scam or leads to very crappy education, thereby not giving you the tools you need to get a real job doing it.

I don't sell anything or promote anything other than solid education in MT. If you want the real story on this business, you are free to PM me. I own an MT business, and my blood boils every time someone gets into the business without having the facts. Wink

I am pregnant with my first baby, and got laid off of my job about a month ago. I knew I was going to be a SAHM after the baby was born, so we're getting by on my unemployment check for now. However, after the baby is born, I'm going to keep two other babies in my home during the day to bring in extra money. It's not as much as I used to make (I'm a RN) but it's enough to certainly help! I think that's one of the best thing SAHM's can do. My opinion.

This response is a little after the fact but I have a website that lists legitimate WAH jobs (both FT and PT). It includes some of the companies (like liveops and teletech) previously mentioned but there are a ton more. Come check it out!

I found a company that pays me to review resumes. It has been REALLY slow but they are still asking for referrals. So, PM me if you are interested. Also www.wahm.com has a telecommuting employment section. Also tjobs.com cost $15 a year and only posts telecommuting jobs. Good luck!
