Dh is getting a taste of grocery prices!

I've handed grocery shopping over to my husband to see how much the prices are. I'm tired of him thinking I'm just spending money all willy-nilly when I don't typically buy anything that's not needed.

Whatever is takes to show him right!!

My husband thinks the same way! And for a large family it's different! All the food prices have gone up here 20 to 50cents. And thats a big jump in our budget. But I am keeping our food budget the same so we will have to exclude a few things from now on.

I don't get men sometimes!

When my hubby worked a normal job I used to make him do the groceries with me. I would start 15-30 mins before he finished work so I was through either all the meat, dairy, fruit and veg or the junk section (dpeniding on where we lived and store layout) then he would join me so he always knew what they cost to some degree. I actually save more now that he doesn't come with me though.

I save more when he's not with me as well, but he still doesn't get it. He wants to see if we can use a bulk company or amazon for some stuff to see if we can save some money that way.

my hubby is constantly on about bulk buying and cooking. The thing is he gets all these ideas buys stuffs and never follows through so things go off. He also doesn't get that it is an added electricity cost to run the deep freeze. He went behind my back and got him Mum to buy him one for his birthday in September and it has never even been switched on because we really do not have a use for it, he wanted it for his bulk cooking idea which he never did.

Dh is very complimentary on what I am able to purchase and make with our food budget. I would be afraid to turn the shopping over to him because I don't think we would have anything for a full meal and he wouldn't be price conscious. He always grabs the first of an item he sees on the shelf without looking at the prices.

I hope your DH catches on soon and begins to understand what you do for your family when it comes to shopping.
