Disposable or Cloth Diapers?

Do you use disposable or cloth diapers? How do you save on diapers? IS cloth worth it money wise? Share thoughts and ideas! Smile

Cloth here. I have always planned on using cloth because I can't bear to spend a minimum of $15 for a packet of nappies, and those are the cheap ones. I only buy China cheapies and generally spend less than $10 a nappy, plus I use flat folds which were handed down to me from an aunty who used them on her son 13 years before me.

Cloth. We switched completely over at 5 months. I did the math then and realized that disposables weren't going to get cheaper since Amazon stopped putting their 20% off coupons in magazines that I was stacking on top of Amazon Mom deals. While it's easy to end up spending more money than you intend (cute prints, wanting to try everything, etc), it is totally possible to save money. I currently use a lot of flats which I have found as cheap as $1. Paired with a cover for $8 that I can use quite a few times before washing, it's a great deal! Even though I've bought more diapers than I originally intended, I have no doubt that I've saved some money. Once we have #2, we'll save even more.

We do cloth here. But we use the gdiapers system. Up front it is expensive but when we don't have to buy diapers it will save a ton. Especially when we adopt #2. However, if the cloth was more expensive that disposables I'd still use cloth. The chemicals in disposable are horrible. I realized this when we used disposables for the first 2 weeks. You could smell the chemicals in the diaper and her bitty bits were all red.

I agree, Kebrina. Disposables smell bad! BTW, I have some g-diapers I had bought and never used. I used the 2 sample ones that came with the package and didn't like them, so if you want to pay shipping, you can have them. I think they are mediums.
