Default How much money do think makes you rich?

So this is just one of those questions that doesn't really have an answer, but on msn money they had an article that said people are saying they need 150,000 a year to feel rich!

Right now in time my husband does not make this amount at all but I feel we do a good enough job with our bills and providing food, housing and clothing.

My husband is going to be a Lawyer one day so things won't be so tough but he said if 150,000 is'nt a lot than what is?

    What do you think?

To us, 6 figures even 100,000/year would feel rich! We are no where even close to half that! We manage to get all our bills paid, food, clothes, have a good emergency fund, but I feel guilty when I spend much money on other things.

I think making 6 figures would make me feel rich...But if we had no debt I'd feel rich after all the extra money we'd have to save. We wouldn't make six figures for probably another 10years. or so. lol

Dude I don't need $100,000 a year. I'd be fine with $50,000 a year after taxes. I wouldn't have any worries. And we could afford a nicer house than what we have now.

I'd say around $75000 after taxes would make me feel rich. My husband and I both make about the same/month, and once we elimante this debt down, it'll give us a lot of "play" money. Things won't be so tight then, and $75000 is enough to make me a happy woman!

If we already had a house (that was paid for) and all our medical bills were paid off, then I'd feel rich on about 75 to 80K a year.

I guess it depends on what you mean by "rich." With a family of 7, I think $75K after taxes would be pretty comfortable and allow us to save a little, but I would definitely not feel "rich." I would still feel like a month or two off work because of an illness or injury would put us in serious financial trouble.

"Being rich" means different things to different people. If a person is trying to collect a bunch of material posssessions they will never feel "rich" because they will always be left wanting. They will want a bigger house, more money in their account, a newer car, a newer phone, which is a never ending cycle. A person can have "everything" and still feel poor.

IMHO, wealth is in spirit and a person's attitude, not in material possessions or the amount of money in their bank account...There is no dollar amount.
