After two years of trying to get pregnant a week after finding out I had a miscarriage. Now I am being told I have uterus didelphys (double uterus). Has anyone ever heard of this? It is possible to have a normal pregnancy without major complications? The doctor mentioned IUI possibly being an option?
I'm sorry you haven't gotten a response to this yet, and I'm so sorry for your loss. Miscarriage can be so devastating, and then to find that you have another issue on top of it can be really overwhelming. I really don't know anything about uterus didelphys, but I think it is pretty rare. A quick glance through some resources about it online definitely suggests that you can still have a healthy pregnancy, but should have some specialized treatment Has your Dr. given you any additional info about it? Are you dealing with a regular OB/GYN or have you been seeing an RE?
I wish you all the best in your journey, and I hope you will post here again.
I'm so sorry for your loss. I have two people in my life that have uterus didelphys and they both have a kid. One of them had two miscarriages and then carried the third to 36 wks. She had a lot of preterm labor and on bedrest for half of the time. She did have to take some fertility drugs and was with a high risk doctor thru the pregnancy but you CAN still have your lo. The other one had given up on having her own and had adopted then not even a year later she got pregnant without any help. She didn't have any major problems.
Do you know if your is split equally? I would think that would play a big part if one side is smaller then the other then it might cause problem. I would ask your doctor on that. I hope know you can get all the help you need. I hope this helps. Good luck
