Joyce those are great pics of the kids in your siggie....
I had an appt today and I got to see and hear the hb. It was 124 and everything else was great.
that's awesome Shirley!
Any other updates, ladies?
Rita and Shirly... CONGRATULATIONS on seeing a heartbeat!!!
Not too much to update here... I should have a baby anytime within the next 4 weeks or so though.
That's great, Laurie I can't believe you are about to have your baby already!!
Shirley ( I think I must be tired- I just had to fix my misspelling of your name- Whirley!) I'm so glad to hear you got to see a nice healthy h/b! Congratulations!
My dr's appointment went great last Wednesday- no problems finding the h/b at all So I didn't have to go to maternity or anything! It was so stress free, almost anticlimactic Not much else to report.
Well, I'm 37 weeks and officially full term today! I hope this is the last belly pic that I post!
I think I will show a little progression...
Here is 10 weeks
And 37 weeks taken today!!
Great pics, Laurie. How exciting that your baby will be here any time!
BTW, can you believe how active this thread is?? That is so great!
What a great shot Laurie. Sounds like you will be getting the best Christmas present this year.
We had our first u/s today and are happy to announce that we are having twins!! We are very excited. Both babies had their own little yolk sacs and the most beautiful heart beats Thanks for all of the support.
Oh wow Stacy!! That's amazing! I'm so happy for you and I wish you the healthiest and most event-free pregnancy!!
Time flies ladies! I can not believe that I am considered "full term" today (37 weeks!). I am SO ready for this baby to arrive but unfortunately NOTHING is happening. I have not effaced or dilated...or even had a contraction! I think she is very comfortable and does not plan on coming anytime soon. The OB seems to concur...but seems upbeat that things will start to progress. Meanwhile, I am constantly uncomfortable with pelvic pain, pressure, and back issues. But, I never forget where I came from in the first place so I try not to complain too much. I just have to remind myself to take it one day at a time.
Congrats on the new BFPs!
I have attached a picture of little Julia from my u/s a few weeks back. She looks so peaceful.
Sounds like a lot of great things are happening here. CONGRATS to everyone!
Ellen, your baby's u/s picture is precious. She looks like a little angel.
I too, am full term today, finally at 37 weeks. I have had braxton hicks...I think, and at my last doctor apppointment at 36 weeks, I had already dropped....so I am hoping that our little girl will be on time and not too late!
My next appointment is Monday. If there are any changes I will keep you all posted.
Ellen your little Julia is beautiful.
Alli...glad to hear all is well.
You both are going to have the best Christmas presents.
Stacey, how wonderful that you have TWO little miracles growing inside you. Congratulations- what a great way to enjoy the holidays I wish you all the best and a comfortable, uneventful pregnancy!
Elllen and Alli, congrats on being full term! That is a beautiful pic of your little girl, Ellen! Sending you easy labor and delivery vibes
We had a 2nd u/s last Friday, and it went great! The baby was stretching and moving the whole time, and it waved to us half-way through the u/s! DH and I are thrilled, and we now move to the regular 4wk appts!
Wow, this thread IS getting active!! Ellen and Alli... you are both so close now!!
Melissa, have you had a GD test done yet? I know you were thinking you would probably have to deal with that again.
Rita, that is great news about your second ultrasound!!
.... An update on me...
I had my 38.5 week appointment today and I had my first internal exam done (my doc doesn't do them until after 38 weeks). Anyway, it turns out that I am dialated to an easy 3 almost 4 and 70% effaced. Baby is -1 station. He said that my body is definetely ready and if I don't go into labor this weekend he will "help" me on Monday. So... I should have my baby no later then Monday night!! This is perfect timing since my family will begin arriving for Christmas at the end of next week and I was hoping that I would be able to me home with the new baby and adjust for a couple days before people started arriving.
Laurie, that is awesome! I'm so excited for you Actually, when I saw you had updated, I thought you were going to say you were in labor lol.
Rita, I'm so glad everything is going well with your pregnancy. That is wonderful that your little one WAVED at you! How exciting Are you going to share any u/s pics with us?
As for me, no, Laurie, I haven't been tested for gd yet- but my next appointment is this coming week, so I will probably be tested very soon. So far, Ifeel pretty good- my blood pressure was a little elevated, and I'm starting to have a little swelling in my hands and feet, but nothing really remarkable, my wedding band is justa little tight sometimes. The baby is pretty active now, and sometimes gives me a poke that hurts just a little to remind me how strong he/she is becoming!
Laurie, you may be a mommy by now, but if not Good Luck. Keep us posted!
Girls, its always really nice to have a spot on our board where I can come and see some pregnancy tickers! I'm so thrilled for you all and those Christmas or New Years babies had better have some pics VERY soon!!
*Cheers to healthy births, girls!*
Sophie Adriana has arrived...
Born: December 18th
Time: 10:48 am
Weight: 8 pounds 4 oz
Length: 20.5 inches
I got home from the hospital Tuesday night, but I have been too busy to post! Anyway, here is the birth story for Sophie...
I was told at my appointment on Thursday, dec. 14th that I was easily 3 centimeters dialated and 70% effaced. My doc said that if I didn't go into labor over the weekend that he would be willing to induce me Monday morning. I agreed to this as I was anxious to meet my new little girl and get her home for Christmas.
I arrived at the hospital at 6:00 am Monday, dec 18th for the induction. I spent the first hour and a half just being monitored. Then at 7:40 am they started me on some pitocin and said that I could go walk in the halls to try and get things started. Not a whole lot happened. I felt maybe 3 extremely light contractions over the next hour. At 8:30 am my doctor arrived and said that he would break my water to get things going. So, he checked me... I was still 3 centimeters dialated, and broke my water at 8:40 am. Within one minute after my water was broke I felt my first painful contraction. I told the nurse I wanted to get in the tub. I got in the tub and I very quickly realized that I needed more then water to deal with the contractions. I got an epidural soon after. I then felt MUCH better (after an initial episode where my bp crashed, but that was quickly resolved). At 10:20 am (just a little over an hour and a half after my water was broke) I told the nurse that I felt a lot of presure. She checked me and her eyes got big. She said the baby's head was crowning. My doc was called and at about 10:30 am I started pushing. The baby's head was buldging the entire time, and I gently pushed. With dd I was giving a HUGE episiotomy by that doc, but this time the doc just gently let me push. It BURNED so bad, but after about 20 minutes of pushing Sophie Adriana was born! Only a three hour labor!!
I got to help pull Sophie out and then they helped me lay her on my belly. She was there for the next three hours before they took her off of me to do ANY procedures. She latched on about 10 minutes after she was born and breastfed for 2 straight hours! She is a nursing champ and my milk came in about 46 hours after she was born.
Here are some pics...
Going to get washed
Big sister is here
A kiss from big sister
Getting ready to go home
Congratulations!! And Sophie is beautiful!!
What a beauty queen!! And that makes three now for dad!
Laurie, congratulations Sophie is a beautiful little cherub And wow on the 3 hour labor. She must have been really ready to be born.
Yay Laurie! Sophie is gorgeous. Congrats!!!!!
Oh, and here is a picture of my baby at the 9.5 week u/s. It is a little blurry, but I love it!
We've also come up with a nickname for the baby, Desmo! DH came up with it because we like motorcycles, and the Ducati is famous for an engine they build called the Desmodouce (sp?). DH thinks that is what the baby's heartbeat sounds like when we use the doppler!
I was asked to post over here.
Right now my edd is August 30, 2007.
Thanks. I feel funny posting this
I love the u/s photo, Rita It looks great! I'm so excited for you!
Congratulations on your bfp, Jessica I added you to the grads list!
I had my first ultrasound yesterday (5.5 weeks) and found out that I will be having twins!!! My edd is August 19, 2007.
Twins???? Double congrats on that one....I'll get you added to our grads list (or updated)
Congratulations on twins!!
I already posted on the Dec. 06 board, but CONGRATS again Laurie. She is precious!
An update on me...I had my week 38 appointment today (although I am closer to 39), and I have not dilated at all! I was so disappointed. The baby's head is low though and in perfect position. The dr. wants to induce me if the baby hasn't arrived by January 8th ( I would be 41.5 weeks)....I certainly hope she gets here way before that though...her due date is the 30th, next Saturday. Send me some labor vibes next week!
I'm sending you labor vibes for Dec 31st! Come on, First Baby of the Year!
Come on baby Ella!!! We want to meet you!!
JULIA IS HERE!!!!!!!
Hi everyone! I just wanted to take what few minutes I have and let you all know that Julia is finally here. :blob7: She was born this past wednesday and weighed 6lbs 13oz...and is as perfect as she can be. Pics are attached. Here is her birth story:
I went to my 38 week appointment on Tuesday and was 1cm dilated. The OB offered to do a membrane sweep...to which I said yes. It was SO painful (but obviously it worked and was worth it in the end!) I cramped for the rest of the day but did not have any signs that it had worked...until I woke up the next morning. I woke at 6:30 and headed strait to the bathroom and was JUST about to sit on the toilet when a gush of water came out. I thought that I had peed myself, but as I sat down the rest of the way, I realized that I still had to go. All of a sudden reality hit...and I called DH who was already at work. He got back home about an hour later and we headed to the hospital.
We got into Triage pretty quickly and I was checked...still only 1 cm! At that point I was told that I was GBS+, which was a shock since NO ONE had informed me of that during my OB visits! :x I was told that I would have to go on penicillin and be on it for 4 hours prior to any delivery. I was told that b/c I was GBS + and that my water had already broken, that I should get hooked up to an IV and start the pitocin. It took them over 3 HOURS to get me into a labor room and get me hooked up. I was SO mad that I was in Triage for that long...but I guess many babies had decided that they too wanted to come into the world that day! Once in the labor room, I was told that I was lucky to have even gotten a room....and that some women were in the halls waiting! :?
At about 8pm, I was fully dilated and began pushing. I could not believe the pain that I was in...after all I had had an epidural put in JUST for that purpose. Unfortunatly, I dont think that it took completely....it totally sucked! I labored for over 2 and a half hours and gave birth FINALLY at 10:47 that night. I surprised myself with the whole thing...but I just kept focusing on the end result and got thru the pain of it all.
We got home late Friday night and have been operating on just a few hours of sleep a night. Breastfeeding has been going a bit better, but got off to a rough start. Her latch is not the best and she was not getting what she needed at first. Unfortunately, I had to supplement with formula for the first few days...but now that my milk is coming in I am happy to say that I am able to keep her satisfied. I rented a pump and I think that it was one of the best decisions that I made...it really does help with the engorgement and the times when my nipples are too raw and painful for her to latch on.
Anyway, that is it...it is finally over and I have the best Christmas gift in the world. Who needs anything else when God blesses you with such a precious gift. I am so in love....
Congratulations, Ellen! Julia is absolutely beautiful I'm so happy for you. Good job, mama!
Ellen, I posted on the Dec. board, but I wanted to congratulate you again!!!! You have such a beautiful little girl. I love the name too!
As for me...no signs yet. Still waiting on some sign of progress. I will update you all hopefully soon!
Julia is gorgeous Ellen......what a great Christmas gift.
Sending ((((((labour))))))) to you Alli!
Don't you just love the military hospitals! She is so gorgeous, and what a Christmas blessing!!
She is beautiful Ellen!! Congrats!
I had another checkup yesterday, everything is JUST FINE I have to call and make an appt for a gd screen, so should be having that sometime next week. My next u/s should be around 30 weeks- around 4 weeks from now, so we'll see how that goes. That's it for me- things are actually starting to get a little boring Oh- one exciting thing, today, Michaela got to feel the baby kick! Her eyes just lit up, it was so cute!
Im sorry ya'll ive missed so much... Congrats Ellen she is beautiful!!
Ill try to catch up in a bit- right now a certain baby is hungry
An update on me....
So I went in to my week 39 appointment today hoping that I would be dilated this week. I was disappointed to find out that I hadn't dilated at all but scared to death when the doctor said the heartbeat was too fast...at 175. She hooked me up to a monitor and thank God everything turned out to be ok. It just so happens that whenever my little darling moves around her heart rate goes up a bit. The doctor said that was fine and eased all of my fears.
I don't think I will be having my baby tomorrow...on my due date. Darn it!
Alli, have you had your baby yet??!
Today I am finally in the 2nd Trimester!! I know my ticker is one day slow, but I am just too lazy to fix it. And I had an u/s last Friday, and the baby was jumoing up and down the whole time, and everything looked perfect!
*Updated to add my 14 week belly picture!*
Here she is....Ella Grace! Below is my birth story and picture. She was a whopping 8 pounds, 8 ounces and 19. inches long. She is our little chunk.
Last Wednesday, January 3rd, I had an ultrasound to determine if my amniotic fluids were low (since I was post-term). Sure enough, the doctor said it was a little low so she scheduled an induction for that evening. At 5:00 PM we arrived at the hospital and I was given Cervidil to help prepare my cervix. ( I was closed and 80% effaced upon arrival). I started having very mild contractions…so mild that the nurse told me I was having them when looking at the heart monitor/contraction machine. I just thought that the baby was moving around a lot. The next morning, the Cervidil came out and there was still no change in my cervix dilation. So they started me on Pitocin around 7 a.m. I still only had very mild contractions all day and was pain-free. Then when I had finally made some progress to 1 cm, the doctor broke my water around 6 PM. It hurt so bad b/c she had to pull down on the cervix to get inside. Believe it or not, this was the most painful part of labor! Then around 8:30 I started getting really bad contractions so I got an epidural (I was around 3 to 4 cm by this point). After the epidural, I felt all warm and calm, so I dozed off. By 3:15 am, I was already 10 cm and the head was in position to come out. We called my mom and dad and they showed up just in time, as I was just starting to push. Mike was so great through it. He encouraged me every step and was so calm. Mom watched from the chair beside the bed and was just as reassuring. Overall, I was very peaceful. I didn’t have any pain and I was able to push with no problems. Ella Grace arrived at 4:58 am, on Jan 5th, after almost 36 hours of hospitalization. She was laid immediately on my chest and I waited for the first breath anxiously. Once she cried, I knew that all would be fine. Labor for me, was really great. I had to have an episiotomy, but it was not so bad. So, that is my birth story. We are all so in love with her! She is such a blessing, and totally worth the wait.
Alli, congratulations! Ella is such a beautiful little cherub Good job!
Rita, you are getting a cute little bump! How exciting!
I entered the 3rd trimester yesterday! that means 12 more weeks to go! I went and had the 1 hour gd test today, so we'll see how that goes. In the meantime, I went and saw the dietitian today, and she said I'm doing just fine. Apparently her approach to gd is a lot less strict then the dietician when I was pg with dd. She says that as long as I'm being reasonable, and my sugars are good, there's no reason to enforce any strict rules on me. That makes having gd this time a lot easier to swallow lol. So I'll find out soon if I passed the 1 hr. Wouldn't it be funny if I did pass and was so careful about diet and checking my sugars when I didn't need to be?
:woohoo: Alli...Ella Grace is a beautiful little girl. I'm glad you had such a good experience.
Rita you are getting such a cute little bump....LOL
Mel...I'm so glad you updated us I've been meaning to email you. You may pass the test because you were so careful. Kup....
Kirstie, I thought that I would update all the time, but the truth is, if I gave weekly updates, you all would be bored! My next checkup is in 2 weeks, and after that I see the doc every 2 weeks, so I'll have more to say then
Alli! What a beatuy! Congratulations on your sweet baby girl.
Rita...your looking great. And congrats on the 2nd trimester....that is a great milestone. It will go fast from here on out.
Melissa...your third trimester already? I just cant believe it! Wow! GL on the test results and KUP.
Just a quick update to let you know I got my test results in today and....I passed! Yes I am really surprised. Apparently, no GD for me I have to discuss it with my doc, and see if he wants to retest periodically or not... I am sort of on the fence. I have read a lot more on gd since being pregnant this time around, and I'm sort of wondering if I was misdiagnosed with it with my first pregnancy...but I digress I actually bought some clothes for the baby today! I haven't been able to do that until now. Just some sleepers and a couple onesies- but that's all a newborn really needs anyway. Especially when you don't know if you're having a boy or girl! BTW- I'm still guessing GIRL So we'll see- everyone around me keeps telling me I'm having a boy
That is great news Mel. and I'm glad you finally decided to start picking a few things up.
