Talking about Infertility (opening up)

I've dealt with infertility for years, and I think it's time to get this board rolling. I've been wanting to for a long time. It would help me and others so much to talk with others going through exactly what we are dealing with, especially on our down days. (That goes to the trollers on the board who read but don't post. Start posting!! Blum 3 ) I think it can be rough keeping it all boiling and festering on the inside. Why not get it out? Vent? Rant? Anything over your infertility issues. I just think we should open up and talk about how we truly feel whether it's bad, good, jealous, happy, frustrated, impatient, at peace, etc. Smile

My name is Lindsay, btw, and I'm still TTC #1, so I'm really hurting over it all. It's been a long hard journey, and I'd like a place to go to talk with other women so we can try to bring positivity to each others lives, and if we get a group like that, then... well, the more the merrier, right? Smile Here's to hoping we get this thread going! *fingers crossed*

Hi Lindsay. You are right, it is rough keeping feelings inside. I'm dealing with infertility after having my first. We've been TTC for almost 2 years this summer. Looking to start my first Clomid cycle next month.

hope some other ladies start posting too!

Hii! *waves* I definitely think it's good to start talking about. There are times that if I want to talk to famiy and friends about infertility but they go, "it will happen one day". Well, it's nice to think that, but YEAH RIGHT. haha I'd rather talk to you ladies about my ups and downs with infertility, so I definitely hope more ladies start posting! Nice to meet you!! Smile

Well, I've been lurking around this section of the boards for awhile, but since I have my first RE appointment tomorrow I suppose it is time to jump in. It's hard to make that mental transition from "well, it's just taking longer than we expected" to "we're dealing with infertility."

DH and I got married last June and are on cycle 13 and have issues on both sides (I'm 40, blocked right tube, obese. He's 48, abnormal SA which we'll get more specific info on tomorrow, also obese.) We also both have significant family histories of late, spontaneous first pgs (well into the 40's) so we were hoping to manage this on our own. But, after a year and 2 recent chem pgs, we figured it was time to get some help.

I'm looking forward to helping get this board going again. It would be nice to be able to talk about it with you girls!

Jean

Hello Jean. Sorry to hear you are having difficulties. Hopefully the RE can shed some light and get you guys a BFP!

I got a BFP last month after 22 months of no luck after our first child. Unfortunately, I'm now waiting for my body to miscarry. My numbers aren't rising. I'm actually wondering now if my fever (same weekend i found out i was preggers) caused some harm. Pretty sure I was over 100 a few times.

We're gonna get through this, wait a cycle and try some more.

I'm so sorry for your loss. :bigarmhug: Hopefully the BFP will be the start of a trend for you.

Meeting with the RE was good. She felt from looking at my HSG films that my right tube is not completely blocked. It isn't as freely open as my left tube, but she thinks it is viable. So, we're on to lots of testing after (if?) AF shows on Friday. Blood tests, another SA for DH. Then starting with IUI in the following cycle (july.) She didn't see any major problems, and the ovaries, uterus, lining, etc all looked good on u/s. So we'll see how it goes. Nice to be moving forward although I'm scared to death of all the hormones to come.
