We found out a couple days ago that my grandpa passed away. He was actually my step-grandpa, no blood relation, but we still loved him so much.

He was such a character. If you can imagine this old indian man, strong as an ox, eyes bright as stars. Always being cheeky, putting his head down and laughing, grinning from ear to ear, because he didn't want you to see he was laughing at you

He once called my sister Howard by mistake (or for fun, which is just as likely), and we still call her that to this day, mostly because we liked remembering his funny ways.

He would tell stories about when he was young. How he lifted the back end of a car so the ladies could change their tire. How he could have bought all the land around where he lived for a dollar an acre, but his dad (don't think I'm remembering this correctly, but close) didn't want to because it was 666 acres and he was superstitious.

He was in a few movies, but I'm not sure which. I'm pretty sure they were all westerns, being filmed in Montana. He was good friends with everyone on set. Met Sydney Poitier and had drinks. I can't even imagine what that would have been like.

Anyway... I haven't been able to tell anyone about what an awesome man he was, so I thought I'd do him a bit of honor here. He was amazing, and will be missed terribly.
