Storybook for those of you with young children

Hello there.
My name is Thomas, and let me start this message by saying how sorry I am for your loss.
I am, luckily, happily married to a wonderful woman who has given me two beautiful children (one of them five months old). I know how fortunate I am to have my family, and cannot imagine what I would feel if it were torn apart by an unforeseen tragedy.
Given these feelings, a while back- specifically after the Tsunami of two Decembers ago, and when it was announced on the news that the American death toll in Iraq had surpassed 1,000, I was inspired to write and illustrate a story that surviving parents could read to their children to help them cope with their loss. I am not a child-psychology expert, and don’t claim to have any special insight into what your lives must be like. Simply put, I was moved by the images of parentless children on the news, and wanted to see if I could do anything to lessen the pain of anyone that my story could reach.
If you visit my website ( ), you can read the story, which is written from a young child’s perspective.
It is a short story, and is meant to be read to young children as a way to help them deal with their grief- but might be useful for older ones as well.
I am not asking you to buy anything (there is nothing to buy, nor are there any links to anything to buy), I just hope that you enjoy (seems like the wrong word to use) the story, and that it helps you and your family in some way.
Thank you for taking the time to read this message.
And once again, I am deeply sorry for your loss.
