Thread: Today would have been 8 years

Eight years since we were married in Vegas.




It's now the same number of years he's been dead as we've been married.

Were you living in Canada when you got married? How did you decide on going to Vegas? (I'm being nosey today). I want to hear all about your wedding day, if you want to talk about it.

Yeah we travelled to Vegas to meet up with friends. Stayed a little longer; won a bit of money; and thought let's get married! My parents weren't too keen on him anyway, and we had just gotten engaged at the end of October, and not set a date or anything. So we spontaneously went shopping; he planned everything (LOL, how many husband-to-be's single-handedly plan their own wedding). And eloped.

I think what bothers me to this day is that after Ricky's first birthday, I had totally forgotten about our anniversary. And I had vowed to not forget again.... unfortunately he was gone by the time the next year's anniversary came.

I forgot our 2nd anniversary. It happens when you get busy. I forgot my own b-day after JD was born

That sounds so romantic though. Going away for a vacation and coming back married. That will be a great story to tell Ricky when he is older.
