movie theatre

Have you brought your LO to see a movie at the theatre yet? We've been thinking about taking Ryken to see Cars 2 this weekend. Just wondering how other LOs have done...

Never brought Hunter to the movies yet... we thought about it but never did it. The thing is Hunter can sit still very long in front of kids show (that we mentioned in another thread) but he doesn't get into movies yet.... we try putting shreck, lion king, nemo, etc... but he gets bored after awhile..... but maybe in a theater it would be different with the big screen and sounds.......
if you go, let me know how it went, we may try it with our little monster after!

My mom took Liberty to see Rango, and she said she did really well! DD still talks about that movie and that was weeks ago! I haven't taken her myself... just because I can't stand to sit through most kid movies lol!

Hmm, not really thought about it. I think Alexander would start to get restless after about an hour Smile

We took Kate and Hayden to Toy Story 3 about this time last year. Kate was great in the theater. We went prepared with goldfish and a sippy cup and an extra bottle of water. There was one time she cried because I didn't get her drink to her fast enough, but she was only 18 months then. I did have to take her and stand in the hallway inside the theater for the last 5-10 minutes because she was tired of sitting there. I would have gone outside but I wanted to see the end of the movie. Smile

We are taking them to see Cars 2 tomorrow for Hayden's birthday. I can come back here and report if it helps. Smile

Makenna loves Cars!! She always wants to "watch Mater" when she sees the ad for cars 2 but I just don't know if she would sit still long enough to watch it.

Took both kids to Cars 2 on Saturday... Luke fell asleep! He was fairly good before he fell asleep... we sat on the end, which was good because he wanted to get up and stand in the aisle. It was a good movie! I enjoyed it. Oh and we did not see the 3D version because we knew Luke wouldnt keep the glasses on. But it would be cool to see in 3D

Oh and there were other kids crying and misbehaving in the theater so even if your kids don't behave like angels, its really not that big of a deal. Smile

Well we might just have to try it this weekend! I think just DH is going to take Ryken. It's a good thing they get in free at this age. I'd hate to pay for 2 tickets only to leave early.

Well, here's what I thought. The movie was a little violent for my taste pertaining to a 2 year old. They were shooting each other with guns and talking about killing cars. It was pretty much the whole premise of the movie. It wasn't graphically violent, though. I'm kind of weird about boys especially being exposed to violence at a young age, so you guys may think I'm nuts for saying it was violent. lol Kate did pretty well this time. The seat kept folding up on her, so DH held her almost the whole time. The time she wasn't being held she was walking and standing in front of her seat or mine. She actually fell asleep for half an hour during it, too, which is out of character for her. It was a 10:40 showing, so not during naptime either. Also, we got there 10 minutes early and had to sit in the front section (the part that isn't stadium seating) so definitely be prepared for it to be busy.

Well, we braved Cars 2 tonight, and it went very well. Neither my hubby nor I expected our LO to last more than 20 minutes, but he made it through the whole thing and loved it.

He did stand up and mess with his seat a little, but I would guess that he actively watched the movie 85% of the time.

Btw, he likes Thomas and Curious George, but, even then, he rarely sits through a whole 30 minute episode. The theater experience was exciting for him, though!

We still haven't gone yet. Last weekend was busy with 4th of July stuff. DH and Ryken might go tomorrow if we don't figure something else out to do.
