? For Potty Trainers

NAK

How are they doing?
How many accidents are they having?
Do you tell them to go or do they tell you?
How often do you have to remind them to go (if applicable)?
Trained for #1 and #2?
Trained at night?

Thinking of starting back up with Kate. Just wondering what to expect since I've never had a trained 2yo, lol.

How are they doing? Really good most of the time
How many accidents are they having? Probably about 4 a week. Not everyday, and if she does it's not usually more than 1 in a day. And some of them are more my fault. Sometimes I feel like she says she has to go potty just to get the attention, especially if I am doing something w/ Lucas. And the other night I was trying to change him and put him in bed and she had JUST gone like 5 min before so I didn't believe her. And sure enough, she really did have to go. And tonight she had one right before bed, but I had been doing the laundry and left her alone for about 5 min. She acutally had gone to the potty and sat on it, but I guess a little late.
Do you tell them to go or do they tell you? Usually she will tell me, but sometimes I have to ask.
How often do you have to remind them to go (if applicable)? It just depends on what she is doing. If she is really into playing w/ something or watching something I notice she starts dancing around and I have to ask her if she needs to go. And I always ask a few times before we leave the house to go anywhere.
Trained for #1 and #2? Yes
Trained at night? No. I'm wondering if I should restrict her liquids before bed, but she is so used to getting her milk right before bed that I'm not sure if I want to risk the tantrum that I know will come if I tell her she can't have it. Don't you just love 2 yr olds? Blum 3

How are they doing? Great now. We did have a setback a few weeks ago when he got sick but that only lasted about a week
How many accidents are they having? not had any since he got well. He had accidents for 3 days (I did the three day PTing that Veronica sent me and it worked GREAT) then nothing until he got sick and now we are back to normal
Do you tell them to go or do they tell you? Both. If I see him dancing around I tell him/take him to go but sometimes he says "no wee wee" (he doesn't want to stop what he's doing to go so I think he's telling himself not to go Lol If he needs to poo he just says "go poo poo" and takes himself. Then he shouts me to wipe him bum Smile
How often do you have to remind them to go (if applicable)? Most of the time really. Like I said before he dances around the house holding himself until I make him go Lol
Trained for #1 and #2? Both. Yesterday he just started taking his clothes off himself too pee aswell as poop (which he has been doing since after he was ill)
Trained at night? Yes. That only took the 3 days too. He has only had one accident in bed (again when he was ill). He doesn't go to bed in a pull-up. He did for about a month but I was just wasting them.

he has been trained since Easter...so the end of April. Also he doesn't have a drink before bed at 6.30 from dinner at 4.30.

It all just happened. I knew he was ready because he used to tell me he'd pooped or tell me he was having a wee. Sometimes he pees a tiny bit in his clothes then tells me he needs to go but I don't count that as an accident

Ok, this thread is making me want to just do it already with Ryken. We've been slacking with training. He's totally ready, I just don't think DH and I are. Lol

We've started PT a couple times and then quit for various reasons. He's probably all confused now!

Alrighty, I just put big boy undies on Ryken and we are NOT going back. Hopefully I can keep my cool when he has accidents Biggrin I don't want to frustrate him!

I have been on vacation this week and thought it was a perfect opportunity to PT.... Makenna has other ideas. She has no interest in using the potty, she will sit on it for about 3 seconds and then that's it. I have tried taking her every hour but she never goes. Guess we will wait for a bit and try again.

This is us, too. We had such a hard time with Hayden and JUST got him done only a month ago that we don't really want to do it all over again yet. But I've read that they just get harder to train the older they get once they pass 2 1/2. Also with the baby around she's been craving more attention and trying to be a baby herself, so I don't know if she'll be really receptive to the "big girl" idea. Or maybe it is just what she needs. I think we're going to bite the bullet soon. Good luck with Ryken!

And congrats to all those big boys and girls who have figured it out! And the mommies (and daddies) who have been patient with them. Smile

Yahoo go for it!!!!

When Alexander has accidents I just say "Oopsie, where should that go"? And he says "in poppy (potty)". When they have loads of accidents and you know they know what to do it's really hard not to get mad but I know it can make it worse so I just kept my cool with him and vented to you lot Lol

How are they doing? Pretty good at home, working on going poo though... and going on her own while we're out!
How many accidents are they having? None at home, just sometimes when we go out and she's in panties.
Do you tell them to go or do they tell you? She tells me at home, I ask her while we're out!
How often do you have to remind them to go (if applicable)? I ask about every 30 minutes if we're out.
Trained for #1 and #2? Perfect at home for #1, is scared to go #2 though!
Trained at night? Not yet...
