Saying words they shouldn't

Anyone else having this issue? If I hear Alexander say the word 'penis' again I might die. He keeps saying it at strangers as well!! I just ignore him and when I get a shocked look off someone I say "we are just ignoring it" but he just won't stop!!

He will won't he? I mean, I can only take so much embarrassment!! He knows what it means and he know's he shouldn't be saying it but it's not like it's even in a conversation. He just randomly going "PENIS" at the top of his voice.

Now I'm laughing, because I know if I heard someone else's child yelling "penis" I'd laugh but when it's me it's not quite so funny!

Also, he thinks the words "wee" and "poo" are really funny and keeps making up songs about them

We deal with this some too -- we have "strong words" that we don't say, like stupid or hate and bathroom words like penis, poo poo pee pee etc. I tell Zayden that if he needs to use the bathroom words, he needs to go to the bathroom. He thought that was really funny for awhile when I sent him to the bathroom but got over it pretty quick.

Now if he hears us say "strong words" he corrects us. but it took awhile!

Just found out we have two more boys on the way... I think there is going to be a lot of this kind of talk around my house for YEARS to come!

Congrats Tiffany!!!!!!!!!!!! That is amazing news! And yes I'm sure your going to be dealing with these type of words for years and years and years to come Wink

Jakey hasn't started this yet but his vocabulary is just coming so i'm sure the potty words will too! He after all has 2 muh older siblings to help him along with learning those words. And for the record, the potty words don't go away anytime soon - i'm still dealing with it with my 9 and 8 year old!
