Monkey Roll Call!

Anyone else have a monkey?! I sure do:p

Only about a week after taking his first steps the day he turned 15 mths, he figured out he can climb. That's him standing on his brother's table in the hallway. He turned the light switch off and on for a while, then knocked off the basket on the bookshelf (middle left part of the picture). The bookcase is behind the baby gate btw. Soon after that I think he was reaching for something else up there when he fell off. He's also figured out how to get on the recliner, couch, and futon. The table seems to be the most interesting though. His second time up there he fell too! Today he almost got down by himself but he was inching down with his stomach against the table and got stuck upright with his feet dangling and his stomach on the table LOL

Any other climbers? Got some good pics?

Connor has been climbing literally before he could walk. The dog cages, the couch, the tv stand all of that was before Thanksgiving! Now he is doing desk chairs, bar stools, steps, EVERYTHING. Stuff I didn't even think he was able to get onto he gets on then smiles at me with this big goofy grin.

He's going to give me a heart attack before he's 3!

Both of my girls are climbing more and more. Keira is attempting to get on our couch now. Too bad she is short! ROFL She gets one leg kind of up on top and cannot get up there unless I am sitting on the couch pushing it down with my weight. It won't be long though. They have figured out how to use objects to get themselves where they want to go. They often use their megabloks table to get up onto our ottoman. Biggrin

Oh god no. Jack is not YET climbing on furniture. I am in deep doo doo when he does. He does however try to climb on his car garages and will sit in his little zoomer (spinny cars) track and try to spin himself around-but simply burns out batteries.
I do have to say that he has been climbing the stairs since mid-October. He also is starting to stand on the floor side and grab the bannister and try to stand on the little bit of the stairs that sticks out from the bannister. He sees his cousins do that at Nana's.

Yep, I've got a climber too. I don't know how, but Luke could climb stairs before he could even crawl! Our chairs are often laying down on the floor because I had enough of finding him on top of the kitchen table. He's definitely a monkey. It's a new experience for me; his older brother wasn't a climber at all.

Cynthia, ha ha ha! Ethan wasn't (still isn't) a climber either so it's a new experience for me too! (I think Ethan's anxiety plays into why he isn't a climber...)

It is all new to me too. Isaiah was not a climber. I don't think Sarafina will be a big climber because she has too much anxiety. Keira, on the other hand, that girl was pushing a chair around the kitchen the other day. She has not tried to climb on it yet, but I think that is because she is still figuring out walking. Once she has that down, we are in big trouble.

Evan is totally fearless (which gives ME anxiety) but he's not much of a climber. He has been able to do the stairs forever and has been walking since 10ish months but climbing on to the furniture etc doesn't seem to hold much interest to him. I'm sure when I least expect it I'll find him standing on the table Smile

Mel, glad they're not both climbers! My mom was 14 when her twin brothers were born, and my grandma broke her hip when they were babies so my mom ended up being "Mom." And they were both climbers, biters, everything! Plus they had a brother 4 years older. Thankful you're not dealing with the same thing after hearing her stories;)

Oh yes, Josiah is quite the climber and he is also fearless! DH and I swear he is on a daily mission to see how he can hurt himself next! His current favorite thing to do is climb on our livingroom table and run on it, like run to the edge and just barely stop before he falls off...and he has fallen off. He thinks that is the funniest thing in the world. He's been climbing on the couches for a while, our couches are a little shorter than the ones we had with the girls so I think that helps him, but even if they weren't, he loves using the pillows from our couches or his megablocks table or the girls' bathroom stool to climb onto just about anything else he can't reach without a boost. Its nervewracking to say the least! He has had so many bumps and bruises!
