Am I the only one who hasn't even thought about baby proofing yet? Have considered not even doing it. What are your views?
We definatly will be doing the chemical cabenit, the balcony, plug outlets, and knives.
But Im talking like... Baby gates and locks on every cabinet
Once they start walking, I worry about it then. We do outlet plugs, locks on the cabinets for the bar and chemicals and baby gates on stairs. We parent under the tree of learning through experiencing. If its not deadly, we let them figure it out on their own while redirecting them from the danger / thing we don't want them around.
i will wait and see what type of kiddo she is, i have one that never got into anything and we just put cleaning stuff up out of reach...........and used a gate for the steps. my other one broke the childproof locks at just over a year. you just never know.
We have cabinet locks in the kitchen. That's really about it as far as childproof our house is.
This is us too!
I think once Tigh is mobile - crawing or walking - then I'll think about it more seriously. Right now I'm considering getting a gated playard so that I can leave him rolling around without me worrying about him bumping into something hard or sharp. I'm sure we will lock up the cabinets with cleaning supplies and gate off the stairs. The plug sockets are already mostly covered because the family that lived in the house prior had small children and had baby proofed the house.
Oh yeah, we'll be baby proofing. But we're not even going to start until Sophia starts crawling, or doing the rolling across the room thing.
I think we're going to get one of those circle gates so we can keep her in one area while she's still little. We'll still baby proof everything in case she gets out, but it'll make it a little easier to keep her contained for a while.
Well, our outlets are still covered and our cabinet locks are still on from Colin. We have a gate for the top of our stairs and another one for the hallway (to keep baby out of the bathroom) and those will go up once K starts moving. That's about it for us!
We have stairs so we'll be getting a gate for that, as well as locks for the cabinets, and covers for the outlets. Olivia is very busy and wants to be into everything so we might end up doing more if needed.
everything is still in use from DS for us. We have gates at the stairs, doorknob covers for the basement door, cabinet locks and plug outlets. I thought the plug outlets weren't necessary, but then DS started poking things in them, so totally had to change my mind on that! We didn't baby proof until he started crawling really fast/walking though.
Probably will do a lot less this time being baby #2, lol. Still have Tot Locks on cabinets that have cleaners in them, and the drawer stops in place. Still have doorknob covers on, although it's pointless for DS, he was able to master them at 1.5 years old. Probably won't use gates as much this time, although DS is able to open and close them no problem if they were still up. Other than that, probably won't add anything to the mix...still have the outlet covers in...yet another thing that DS can just pop right out whenever he wants, lol.
