Most of you seem to have crawlers....

Amelia shows NO interest. She finally is sitting up well on her own. But she does not want to crawl. I try placing stuff so she can get it but she gets so mad. I let her get a little mad obviously to try but she just does not care. I remember Gabe did not crawl until 9 months and was standing up about the same time. Maybe she will follow in his pattern.

Amelia is getting over her first ear infection, and getting in more teeth at the same time. She has had 2 teeth since 5 months.

Anyone starting solids such as puffs or teething bisquits yet? We will start probably mid-August, when she is just over 8 months.

Gabby is just now starting to army crawl after I've been putting her in a crawling position for probably 2 weeks. I just don't worry about it, they all do their own thing.

Gabby gets half puffs right now. She doesn't have any teeth so she doesn't chew well.

We are crawling. Most days I question why I wanted this to happen lol! Hadleigh will go from belly to sitting up straight too. I really think this is b/c her foster family laid her on her belly to sleep. I panicked at 3 months when we brought her home but I think she has a really strong core b/c of it.

We do puffs and the yogurts too. She didn't like the puffs at first but now she loves them. I guess the texture.

No babbling here... she makes noises but no "talking". And she has 2 bottom teeth just starting to break the skin.

Its funny how all our little ones are at different spots in everything they do.

This is Julia.

She will make her way across a room by rolling and pushing herself.

Lots of kids don't start crawling until they're 10 months. I think the timeline is about 8-10 months, but some do earlier and some do later. Don't worry, she'll crawl when she feels like it. Smile

We started puffs and Mum Mums around 1-2 months ago. She LOVES them!

Amelia will crawl on her own time. I had a really hard time the first time around because Ryan didn't do any of the normal things that were on the milestone charts. He didn't roll over, he didn't get up on hands and knees, he didn't crawl, he didn't pull up, he didn't do anything. He finally decided to do it all at 18 months! I would hear about all of these other babies doing all of these things and I wished Ryan would do them too. Now, we have Austin who seems to do everything EARLY. We didn't realize how easy we had it with Ryan. Just be thankful she is taking her time and enjoy it while it lasts!

We started with Puffs about a week or two ago and Austin loves them. He gets excited when he sees the canister. At first he would grab them but didn't quite get them in his mouth. They kept getting lost in his fist. He is starting to get them in his mouth now and he shoves them all in at once. We also bought some wagon wheels, which he loves. He tries to put the entire thing in his mouth at once.

No crawling here either, she just stayed on her hands and knees this past weekend when we placed her up there for about 10 seconds but she can't do it on her own yet, and she is still pretty wobbly sitting as well.

Payton doesn't crawl yet either, she can scoot a little when she is sitting....for example if something is just a foot or so out of reach she somehow makes it there and will turn around while sitting too. She does go from sitting to laying on her belly, but sometimes it's a little "ungraceful".
As far as food, she has just 2 bottom teeth which are pretty useless for eating but she gums things and i have heard her bite apart things in the back of her mouth. You'd be surprised how much they can chew without teeth. We give her most everything we eat, unless it is really hard to eat (raw carrots for example). I usually give her small bites of my food and she seems to really like that better then any babyfood Wink

Crawling and walking although exciting are not my "favorite" milestones, lol!

Daphne is a fast crawler now, but DS didn't start crawling til 9.5 months. Seriously it makes life a lot easier when they are more stationary lol! She's been eating puffs for about a month now, solids just started at 6 months. I am way too paranoid to give anything like Mum mums, I'm always worried they'll gnaw off a large enough chunk to choke on...if it's a "solid" that doesn't dissolve pretty quickly in the mouth, I ain't doing it lol!

Its so interesting to hear about what all our LOs are up to.

Tigh is crawling fast and pulling up to standing. His next step is cruising and he's awful close.

About a month ago we started with cereal puffs and freeze dried yogurt puffs. Recently, he has tried arrowroot cookies and mum-mums which he loves. Today I bought some wagon wheels and veggie dip crisps to try.

He has two bottom teeth which are pretty much all the way out now and by the way he's been acting and drooling, I wouldn't be surprised if another tooth is on its way soon.

Olivia is trying to crawl and pull up on things.

She is refusing purees lately but loves mummums and cheerios!

Illyana has us all running around baby-proofing like crazy...She started crawling at 4.5 months and it's all been downhill from there. She loves puffs, wagon wheels -or giant honeycombs as DH calls them- mum mums, fruits in the mesh feeder, in tiny chunks, veggies... well I think you get the idea, if it's edible she likes it! LOL She has 2 bottom teeth and she's still drooling like a St. Bernard so I think there are more coming (she is also kind of cranky and VERY difficult to put to bed). About 2 weeks ago she started cruising along the couch and the coffee table. The cat is her willing victim sometimes. He teases her with his tail and sits really close to her..she's a bam-bam though, and he always ends up regretting it with a soggy tail hahaha

I love hearing about how all our little ones are doing!

Riley is not crawling or pulling up. He can sit by himself for hours it seems, just playing with his toys. If he falls over, he'll just roll onto his tummy and hang out there for awhile. but no signs of crawling at all. I tried puffs a few weeks ago and he choked on it, scaring the living cr@p out of me, so I haven't tried them again. Maybe in another month or so... Smile

Same thing happened with Sophia! I gave her puffs at about 6 months, thinking she was ready for them cause she was eating her Mum Mums. But she started choking and I actually performed baby Heimlich on her! She started coughing right before I hit her back, though, so I think she dislodged it herself. SOOOOO scary!

I didn't try to give them to her for about another month and now I'm totally paranoid, constantly watching her when she eats her Mum Mums and puffs, even though she chews them now and is definitely ready for them. Better to be safe and sit RIGHT next to her while she eats, you know?

I actually did exactly what my CPR class told me NOT to do! I panicked and reached in his throat with my index finger and grabbed the puff from halfway down his throat. Then I cried for like 30 mins. It was awful. My friend's baby did the same thing, but she turned her baby upside down and the puff came out! This whole eating thing is way more complicated than I appreciated at first. And yes, I watch Riley like a hawk with everything he eats. I hope I'm not still doing that when he's like eighteen! ROFL

I'm all paranoid now, too. Austin got a puff too far back on his tongue last night at dinner and puked it up. I think we are going to wait a bit on them for now.

No crawling yet here either. We do roll, 'swim', and scoot though. And sitting is sometimes touch and go.

Definitely no crawling here. I'm not going to rush it though- I am really nervous about crawling leading to walking leading to more broken bones- I mean I know it has to happen (crawling and walking) but I'm in no hurry! He rolls like a crazy boy, sits pretty well, and LOVES his jumperoo, so I think he's on track anyway! His two bottom middle teeth just popped through last week! Food is not his thing- he loves his bottles, but anything else is really not exciting to him yet.

No crawling here yet - although she has really started scooting backwards and getting her knees up under her, so I know it won't be long. I'm in NO RUSH - I remember too well the chaos that follows a child learning to crawl. LOL.

Lana still pretty much refuses purees - she loves to feed herself though. We do puffs broken in thirds and most of them end up in her lap. She's a champ at fruit in the mesh feeder.
