The shots went very quick with just a little crying from each of them. The nurse was fast and told us right when to pick them up to comfort them. We gave them tylenol about a half hour before the shots. They were definitely hurting again later though with entirely new cries. They really needed their tylenol every 4 hours for a day. My boy was over it in 24 hours but my girl took 48 to get back to normal. They were sleepy and fussy during that time and screamed when the tylenol wore off. It sucks for sure, but hey, it's better than polio!
Allyson just had hers today- 3 shots and an oral vaccine. She cried of course, but those nurses really are fast at giving them, and Daddy picked her up asap and she stopped crying pretty quickly. I forgot to give her Tylenol beforehandbut I gave her some as soon as we got home. She has been sleeping most of the afternoon since we got home with a couple of nursing breaks in between. It is no fun for sure, but don't worry, it doesn't last long!

M got her 3 shots and oral vaccine a few weeks ago. That was the first time I have seen her cry real tears! It was really sad and heartbreaking; I cried right along with her. That whole night she was really fussy and miserable, but luckily she was better by morning. It was no picnic for us! My DS handled them a lot better than she did.
J had the same reaction as the pp. However my ped said no Tylenol! She said new research showed since Tylenol constricts the blood vessels it inhibits the effectiveness of the vaccine. He had a rough evening but bedtime and night time were the same as usual.

Trystan just got his day before yesterday, and he did fine. Just screamed when they injected the shots, but stopped right after I picked him up and held him. I went out shopping right after, so he slept for a few hours, but when we got home he was awake and extremely fussy. Even when I tried to feed him he'd eat for a few minutes, then pull away and scream at me. He didn't have a fever, but I knew that he didn't feel good, so I gave him some infant pain reliever. After that he slept hard that evening, only waking up once. It's pitiful... but just that one day momma!
