28 week appt...

Hey girls! So today I had my 28 week OB appt... everything was pretty routine and nothing too amazing to report. His HR was good (she never tells me what it is though!) and I'm measuring one week ahead, which I won't complain about lol, I'm totally cool with him coming early! I'm up 3 lbs from my last appt, so have now gained a total of 16 lbs  but what can you do?! I'm officially on the every two week appt track now! Tomorrow I go for my 2 hour GD test... wish me luck!

Glad you had a good appointment. Would she tell you the HR if you asked her? I ask the midwives all kinds of questions. Good luck with your GTT. I have an appointment next week and it will be the first of my every 2 week appointments. I will have to get the GTT after that. Blah.

Glad you had a good appt Smile

Why do you have to do a 2 hour glucose test? Do you do that instead of a one hour?

Congrats on a good appointment! It would bother me if they didn't tell me what Ryan's heartbeat was. Good luck on your 2 hour test Smile

Katie, some doctors are going with the two hour because it appears to be more accurate than the 1 hour. Lots of people fail the one hour but pass the 3 hour. They're noticing that more people that fail the 2 hour test are also failing the 3 hour so they feel it could be a more accurate predictor for GD.

Glad everything went well! Is it really time to start the 2 week appts now? That seems crazy!

Probably, but I think I'm just lazy about it because this is my fourth baby and if something was not right with his HR I'm sure she would say something. I just don't think it's her style... if I were a FTM I would probably mind, but like I said being a BTDT mom (over and over lol) it honestly doesn't matter much to me, as long as it's all OK!

This exactly. With DD I failed the one hour and passed the three hour (which was a nightmare to sit through!), so because of repeat issues like this my OB office automatically makes their patients do the two hour test, just to be on the safe side. Thank God I have the HBO Go app on my phone, so I'll just watch a movie or a few episodes of Sex and the City and I'll be good lol!

That's odd. Mine has always started the two week appts at the start of the third trimester, and then once a week once you hit 36 weeks...

Well, I'm jealous of the 2 week appointments! I've been going every couple of weeks for ages and now I'm up to weekly. I moved across the city so it's like an hour drive to the appointments (or 1.5 h in traffic like Thursday's appointment will be.) I know everyone else is giddy over ultrasounds but I'm just getting sick of the goo since I get them at every appointment.

YAY for a great appt and the reasonable weight gain! You are doing awesome!!!! I wish my number was that low. Wink GL on your GD test. I have my 28 week appt tomorrow, but I'm SICK as a dog. I was planning on doing my GD test then, which is a 1 hr, but I doubt you can do that with a cold so I may have to wait. Then on to 2 week appts for me too! CRAZY!
