39 week update!

I haven't posted in a couple weeks, but I'm now 39 weeks, ready for baby any time! (my daughter was born at 39.5)

I have the birth pool all set up in the living room, this weekend would be a great time to have baby boy!

You have such a cute belly Smile good luck with your home water birth!

I've always wondered about filling the tub! Must take forever, then I realized it would be even harder to drain it bucket by bucket. The best part is you are the mama and wont have to help with either part Blum 3

Maybe a stupid question but how do you keep the water warm?

The pool takes about a half hour to fill, we just fill it with straight hot water, and can either wait for it to cool a bit if we have time, or add a bucket of ice to quickly get it to temp if birth is imminent. I'm only planning to be in it for the birth itself, not the entire labor (last time being on the toilet and hands and knees was more comfortable for my labor itself,) but if we need to heat it while I'm in it then we can drain some water and add more hot, and we will also have some kettles/pots with boiling water ready.

The pool has a second hose and electric submersible pump, so draining is not done with buckets, it's all automatic. Wink

I wasn't sure if maybe the pool itself had some sort of heating element or what. I think a tub birth sounds so luxurious.

Thanks for sharing that. I was curious too. Giving birth in water sounds so clean. Biggrin

You look fabulous!! Good luck with the birth - I wish I had access to a tub at the hospital. Maybe I will use it in early labour before we go there.
