Thread: Anatomy scan - sleepy baby

We had the anatomy scan yesterday. Baby was fast asleep so the tech could only get about half the measurements she needed - meaning I will have to go back to finish! We tried everything: bouncing the ultrasound wand around on my belly, running up and down the hallway, jumping, drinking soda. Nothing worked. Baby was stubborn and only stretched a bit, but the tech needed him/her to roll over.

DH got to come in after almost half an hour of trying and we got to see the little one for about 10 minutes. By the way the tech did offer to tell me the gender but I declined (even though I am dying to find out). Turns out she didn't even know at the end, because baby wasn't letting her look! When I go back I will make sure to drink some juice and have a big meal beforehand.

LOL...yeah, isn't it funny how eating tends to make them do flip flops (mine does anyway). Well, at least you got to see and you'll get to go again. Yay!

i can't believe how many of us have to go back for repeat scans! These tinsel tots sure are a tease!

Yes I am very excited to see baby again even though I pretended to sympathize with the tech who was trying so hard to get baby to move!!

It's team green for us at the moment. I will have another chance at the next ultrasound, but DH is adamant about not fining out and I had agreed not to, so I guess I should stick with that . But it's so hard!! Especially when it's right there...

I said to DH that baby definitely comes after his dad - once asleep, nothing can wake him. Let's hope it stays that way when little one arrives.

Glad to hear everything is ok so far! That's funny that you couldn't wake baby up though. Congrats on staying strong for team green. You are way stronger than I am.

Congrats on seeing baby anyway! I wish I could be team green, but DH wasn't having it!

Yea, I couldn't go team green either. We found out it was a girl and I had to start right away and getting stock piles of clothes through trades with friends and shopping, as I have no girl clothes! I couldn't imagine having the baby and not having the right clothes for her!

When is you next U/S? Sorry the baby didn't cooperate... Sounds like you will have a sleepy head on your hands. I, on the other hand, will have a full out acrobat, as usual.

Wow, even if I had gone team green...if the offer was right there in front of me, I'd never have been able to turn it down! Way to go!!!!

Sorry baby didn't cooperate, but hopefully these great sleeping habits continue for years to come
