Baby Acne

My poor little guy has broken out with baby acne on his cheeks a couple days ago. I'm sure it doesn't bother him but it looks so red and irritated. It seems most sites recommend just wiping the face gently with water once or twice a day and it should clear up eventually. Anyone else dealing with this right now or have any other suggestions for how to manage this?

We haven't hit it yet with Emily but Nicholas got his around 1 month and it cleared up after about a week. It has something to do with mom's hormones leaving the baby's body and is normal.

My DS had it really bad and there was nothing I could do to make it better. The Pedi just told me to leave it alone. It went away after a few months.

Sorry that isn't more helpful.

Kai has it pretty bad right now, today it started spreading to his chest a bit Sad It looks awful. It started with one pimple looking bump and now it looks like he is going through puberty.

Vivi has it TERRIBLE!! It started December 23. I've just been washing it with a warm washcloth once a day and patting it to dry.

Trystan has had this for a couple of weeks now. I bought some face cream from Clinique called Redness Solutions (I bought it for DD when she had this as well) and it's helped out a great deal. And like those sites told you, wiping their face with a wet wash cloth helps, too. Just remember no baby soap or even wet wipes (as they contain soap as well) because it might irritate their skin more.

Ryan is starting to get it too. My doc says there's nothing you can do about it and that is should subside around 7-8 weeks. I read some people dab it with breast milk with success. I might try that. It seems worse where he drools/spits up around his chin and neck. I will start wiping him with a wet cloth after every feed.

I read that too about breast milk helping on some websites. But then other sites saying that milk/spit-up might be aggravating so make sure to clean well if gets on his skin. Right now I'm just wiping with warm water as all sites seem to recommend this.
