braxton hicks' picking up

Anyone else notice a change in their BH contractions? I've been having them constantly all week. I don't mind it... it actually gets me really excited thinking that *maybe* I won't go past my due date.

Mine actually hurt, but they always go away for a few hours before coming back. I don't have any leakage or anything so I'm not worried. It's just a huge change, I didn't have a single contraction with Luke till I was in labor. I'm so ready for December to get here!

Mine have picked up too. I get them nearly all day long. If I sit and count them it's usually every 20 minutes sometimes 15. Once in a while they are closeting by days end I'm able to relax and settle them back to 20-30 minutes apart. Most if mine don't hurt but I know when they are there.

Yes! I've had them very often the last few days. I've also been nursing my three year old a little bit for the first time in months, (she's come down with a cold and hasn't been sleeping well so I let her,) so wondered if that had something to do with it!

Baby is also dropping! I already suspect there is no way I'll be holding out until my december 1st due date. my first daughter measured small the whole pregnancy, and was a week early... this one has been measuring consistently 3 weeks ahead, and I've been having the BH and dropping much earlier this time!

My midwife says I should be prepared for a november baby! Still so much to do

mine are about every 20 minutes also... if I sit down and pay attention. Otherwise I'm busy doing things and don't really take much notice

I don't know if I have noticed regularity. I do get tightening in my stomach, so I assume those are BH, but nothing really consistent. The baby feels lower, and now that she is head down, it feels like she is resting on my bladder. I'm done being pregnant, but trying to come to terms that I have a couple of months left! Seems so far yet so close...

Yes, the tightening is BH. I could not ever tell with my first pregnancy if they were there or not... especially not until the last week of pregnancy. This time there is no question!! SO hard and tight!

This is me too! I was never really sure what a BH was my first pregnancy. They are very noticeable this time!

I have heard you are less likely to "drop" after the first baby? First babies tend to drop a few weeks before delivery, but later babies often don't drop till labor begins. Anyone else heard this? I never noticed one way or the other with Luke. I think I carried right in the middle, not high or low.

I was actually having what seemed to be a lot of bhs when I was still running & being active all the time. Since I have started exercising less I don't really feel them anymore.

I don't ever get BH, but I had my first real contraction last night after running around town for a few hours with DD... it was intense!

I still don't know if I get BH. I have times when my belly is really tight and times when its not but never any pain or anything.

This is me. I still don't know if they are BH or just if I ate too much or have a lot of gas, or if the baby is sitting a weird way. lol This happened with my other 2 pregnancies too.

Oh gosh, yes, my BH are going crazy lately. For me it's unquestionable - I usually have to stop what i'm doing because it's so uncomfortable. Not painful though, so I'm not really worried about it. And I had tons of them with my previous pregnancies too. But the frequency is defnitely picking up.

As for dropping, I have heard that subsequent babies drop later than first babies. But mine drop very early. My 1st dropped at about 35 weeks. My 2nd dropped at 30 weeks. I've been told this one is already very low. I can't find a head anywhere (neither could my midwives) but I do feel hiccups very deep and very internal. Like cervix-kinda area.

Connor has dropped and I was worried it was too soon, but I guess not lol. My bh's have been random and last night I had one that hurt pretty bad. I was scared cause dh was at a Weird Al concert and polkaing his brain out and not here in case it was serious. But I guess since I fell asleep it was fine LOL

Hiccups are cute for the first few minutes! After that the 'boing! boing!' on my cervix is sooo annoying feeling!

I couldn't tell the difference between the BH and real contractions I was getting but lying around all day doing nothing has done wonders for decreasing them all!

This post is reassuring, because mine have been really picking up too! Lying around seems to prevent them (today I have hardly gotten out of bed), but activity will bring them on and lying down won't relieve them unfortunately. I get them super badly if I am dehydrated too. They worry me a little since I get them so much and so tight!! Do they bother the baby at all? She doesn't move at all during them.

Sorry for the double post.... My phone froze!

I'm sure the baby feels it, but its probably not strong enough of a contraction to be distressing. Maybe it feels like a hug lol. My baby doesn't move during them either. Going from laying down to standing up frequently will trigger one for me.

Never had BH with this pg or my last. I guess that's a good thing right? Sounds uncomfortable!

I get them all day long also. My boy is super low lately. I can feel his head moving right at my pubic hair line. It was freaking DH out the other night. I am sort of looking forward to my first pelvic exam even though it is weeks away Wink I hope they are getting me all ready to go!

My last baby was head down and ready to go, I was dialated to 1 or 2 and had false labor for weeks before I was actually induced Sad It was horrible. I think it was about a month.

It's official... this thread jinxed me! Now all weekend I am having BH regularly, and especially after any sort of activity! I have officially reached a very uncomfortable state of my pregnancy.

just re-assuring myself by going through this thread. My BH's are constant for the last week. I don't know why I forgot to mention it to my MW.

I'm easily having 20 a day. They're sooo easy to trigger. bending over, picking something up, changing from sitting to standing, or sometimes just laying down. I know its not labor,, but I'm really surprised at how constant they are.

Is anyone else having this many?? I've definitely been having 2-3 an hour unless I'm laying down, but its been going on for over a week and really hasn't changed. I hate how this stuff always happens going into a weekend!!!

As a FTM, I have no idea what BH feel like, but a few days ago at work, I got up to walk to the bathroom and I had this intense tightening across my belly and felt like the baby was just going to drop out of me. It wasn't painful, just a very strange sensation and my belly was hard as a rock. I'm guessing it was a BH contraction, but don't know for sure. It only happened once so far. I keep reading about how BH are your body's way of preparing for childbirth, so the thought of having them is reassuring because I keep thinking, "C'mon body, we need to get ready!! I need all the practice I can get!" Seems like some of you all have been getting them for a long time now.

Carrie that sounds like a BH to me Smile That's how it happens for me. Especially if I go from sitting to standing really quickly. Or if I eat too much. Which these days means eating a cracker and being stuffed to the brim...lol

I have them 24/7. Sometimes I wake up with a sore belly. The only thing that really helPs me it to drink tons of water. Everything triggers them for me too.

Don't worry, Carolyn, I didn't have them with either of my first two! Mason was the only one I had them with which is ironic since he was a scheduled C - oh well!
