Anyone else ever go tent camping while pregnant?

We went camping in Utah last year and had a blast so when we found out we would be moving DH convinced me to go camping again this summer while pregnant. Well, We went this weekend, just go home this morning. It was fun and I even went on two pretty strenuous hikes. Down side was even with an air mattress I don't think I slept more than an hour either night and walking to the bathroom in the middle of the night really stinks. Plus DH made fun of me for double Ziplock bagging everything in the cooler to avoid any cross contamination. But overall it was fun. If I can ever figure out how to post pics I'll post the belly pic Dh took from the top of the first hike.

Nice! We went a couple of weeks ago. I definitely can't hike, but standing in the lake was the best part with the water's belly support and being able to pee whenever I wanted. Wink I actually found the air mattress ridiculously comfortable while pregnant because of the way I sank into it and so it supported my belly. I think that's it for me this summer though. We had planned more trips that will have to be cancelled.

I don't think I would do tent camping. I did rustic cabin camping a couple of weekends ago. Walking all the way down the hill in the middle of the night to go to the outhouse was not cool, but we had a great time otherwise. No major hiking for me. Did some searching for branches with pine needles laying on the ground with DS, but that was the extent of my hiking. Probably no more of that for me either.

Glad you had fun, and I admire you greatly!! :udawoman: I like tent camping but I can't imagine doing it while pregnant, lol! It's waaaaaay too hot to go tent camping anywhere around here right now anyway. I like doing all of that stuff but not when it's 105 outside and pregnant. I'm a big baby when preggo. Right now about the most rustic I would get would be a fully furnished air-conditioned cabin in the woods, haha!

I should have said pretty strenuous for a pregnant woman. Smile Probably just medium to strenuous for a normal person but neither required climbing over rocks and both were pretty short which were the requirements I gave DH. I figured I could handle strenuous as long as it wasn't long and turned out I was right thankfully.

I've NEVER been camping! Crazy, huh? I mean, I've stayed in a log cabin in the woods before, but that doesn't count does it? Haha. I've never actually slept outside, that I can remember anyways. Maybe because it's always so stinkin' hot here Smile

Sorry, I don't camp even when I'm not pregnant (I'm not very outdoors-y lol!)... so camping while pregnant does not sound cool at all!!!

Well, we just attempted camping last weekend and it was sort of a disaster! The air mattress we usually sleep on made my back so sore that I couldn't even sit up, I had to walk around forever. I then sat in the car wrapped in my sleeping bag for the rest of the night because I couldn't lay back down. I didn't get any sleep and was freezing! We packed up early the next morning and drove back home. Needless to say, this was baby's first and last camping trip in a long time!
