Can you feel your uterus?

LOL, odd question I know!

But I'm honestly wondering how many of you can feel your uterus now in your abdomen? I can't feel mine yet. I thought I should have been able to by now. My belly is growing and I can feel the baby move so I'm not all that concerned, but I really thought I'd be able to feel it by now!

Yes I can feel mine, especially when I sleep on my stomach or if I DTD!

My lower abdomen definitely feels harder and rounder, but I keep reading about how I should be able to feel the top of my uterus just below my belly button, and I do not. Maybe I have too much flab there?

Everything feels hard from the belly button down but it's not comfortable to go digging around, so I don't know!

I find it so interesting that you guys can feel different things like this! I feel clueless over here, just pushing on my belly and not feeling anything but some flab. LOL.

Yep, I think I can. I found the harder edge which is the top of it, and then a couple days later my midwife located it in the same spot.

If memory serves me correctly (and it might not, lol!) I think your uterus doesn't reach your belly button until about 20 weeks. I think we are all at the point where it should just be starting to pop over your pubic bone. (Obviously there's a range of normal as we can see by the responses)

I can totally feel mine inside when I'm sitting in a certain way. And I can tell it's occupying a good portion of space in there, just the "presence" of it, I can feel. But when I lay down and feel my belly I can't find it. Weird.

Thanks for clearing that up! I swear all the day by day and week by week stuff I have been reading says that the uterus is supposed to be moving up out of the pelvic area now.

Anyway, I can definitely feel the presence of it. Last night I was lying on my back in bed and DH rested his arm right across that area and I nearly jumped out of my skin! At the same time, I can't really feel anything special when I poke around. Maybe it kind of sinks toward your back when you're lying down?

To the OP, this is your third child right? Maybe it will just take longer to get firm because of previous use? (Sorry if that sound bad, I am trying to say it appropriately!)

That's correct - I just saw a chart earlier this week that showed the position of the uterus in each week.

Mine is still at my pubic bone but when laying down I can press it and feel where it is. t feels really small for the size belly I'm packing ROFL

OH WOW. Nevermind any uncertainty I felt. It's VERY obviously at my belly button! I can't feel them move yet but as I'm lying here it's clear Somersault Kid (on my left) is shoving Babby (on my right) over to the side. I'm on my back and my whole belly is going off to the right. Oh and yeah, 20 weeks seems right. Twins supposedly puts everything 6-8 weeks ahead for me.

I have been able to feel mine for a while. The top of it is about 3 inches below my belly button right now (but that is only about 2 inches above my pubic bone--I'm small)

LOL! Yup, 3rd baby, and honestly I think you may be on to something there. I am probably just a bit too flabby to actually feel it yet! Blum 3

Yep, that definitely makes sense for you to be feeling it much higher since you are carrying twins! (And also one of the reasons why I am 99% sure I'm NOT carrying twins. No u/s yet, but I can't even find the darn uterus, so there can't be more than one baby in there!)

I can feel mine. It's about halfway between my belly button and pelvis. I definitely feel it when I sit certain ways as well.

I feel it. its right at my navel right now. We went swimming today and i guess i had a contraction b/c it was so hard and felt up higher than my navel. Probably from the activity. I havent been very good at getting my exercise lately.

ETA: i can feel it better when i have a full bladder. kinda pushes it up and out and sort of hardens it in a way.

All I feel is flab but at my 10 w 2 d appt with my midwife when I was laying down she felt it and the top of it a little below my belly button and measured it right at 10 weeks, so it definitely is above the pubic bone before 20 weeks.

I though I could feel mine but I really have NO clue what I'm feeling for lol. It's a little harder than my other side so I'm guessing that's it? The OB wasn't able to feel it when she looked for it the other day but when she did the internal exam that's when she said it was the size of 13-14 weeks. Im totally clueless about it lol.

I am so glad to read some of you ladies already feeling baby because I swear I have been feeling baby for the past few weeks. When I thought I was only 9 weeks I was thinking i was crazy but not they say I'm really 14weeks it makes sense because I felt ds early. I asked the ob and she said it was gas flutters but when I get gas it doesn't flutter lol it cramps. Glad to know I'm not the only one already feeling baby
