How's baby sleeping? Pretty well...I just wish her awake time wasn't from 9pm-1am. Sad

How's feeding (bf or ff) going? BF is going really well...much better than I expected.

Did you have a nice Christmas/new year with your new baby? Yes, it was a whirlwind of family and friends who wanted to meet Evelyn.

What has been the hardest thing? The feeling of being "attached" to her all day and not being able to get anything accomplished around the house.

The easiest? She is a pretty easy baby in general. I am very lucky. Smile

How has your recovery been? Great! I felt like I was sitting on broken glass for a few days and I have had some back pain, but overall, it's been good. I am actually below my pre-pregnancy weight and have all my energy back!

Anything else you wanna add? DH went back to work today, so it's just us girls. Smile

How's baby sleeping? Better! We seem to have hit a groove at bed time which is a relief

How's feeding (bf or ff) going? BF going very well he's up to 12lb 12oz as of his doc apt today lol

Did you have a nice Christmas/new year with your new baby? Busy but very fun I'm looking forward to relaxing for a bit though

What has been the hardest thing? Rory strongly (and often loudly) prefers to be with me. He likes to snack and sleep on me all day which can be hard with a 2 year old and a house to take care of

The easiest? I really expected my 2 year old to be more reactive but he's overall adjusted quickly and well and doesn't seem to mind a bit

How has your recovery been? Good - except the 30 lb I have to lose!

Anything else you wanna add?

Baby's age: 2 weeks, 1 day

How's baby sleeping? Pretty good. He has a crying spell every night from 10pm-1am which is really stressful.

How's feeding (bf or ff) going? Going okay. I am thinking he may be a bit tongue tied which is causing some gassiness. He slips off a bit when we BF so I am a little sore and raw at times.

Did you have a nice Christmas/new year with your new baby? It was nice but stressful! Ryan wasn't even a week old and I was still recovering from surgery. New Year we just sat at home and watched the ball drop in NYC and then went to bed.

What has been the hardest thing? Time management and finding the energy to get up and do anything. Plus Ryan's fussy time at night has been really hard on all of us.

The easiest? Falling in love with our precious little guy

How has your recovery been? Slow and harder than I expected.

Anything else you wanna add? Hope everyone is enjoying their new arrivals!

How's baby sleeping? off and on...sometimes I get a 3/4 hour stretch but mostly just 2 hr stretches
How's feeding (bf or ff) going? wonderful! Emily bfs so well and I am responding well to her Smile
Did you have a nice Christmas/new year with your new baby? Yes I couldn't believe she was here for Christmas! And for new year it was nice too.
What has been the hardest thing? lack of sleep at night and trying to make time to spend with Nicholas around Emily's feeding schedule. Also thinking about what is going to happen with our finances when DH's unemployment runs out and he still doesn't have a job...I would love for him to stay at home and just work part-time a few hours/week at night but he has to want that too and doesn't want to talk much about it.
The easiest? Nicholas has surprised us all with how amazing he is as a big brother. He has little to no jealousy and having DH home with me has been great too dealing with both kiddos.
How has your recovery been? Fine, just stopped using the peri bottle but I am still bleeding a decent amount. No soreness anymore thank goodness but I have to be careful

How's baby sleeping? He still sleeps ALL THE TIME. Is that normal still?? At night it really depends. I have had a few 6-hour stretches and one 9-hour. But usually he wakes up 1-2 times a night to eat.
How's feeding (bf or ff) going? FINALLY BETTER!! He's turning into a little chubby baby!
Did you have a nice Christmas/new year with your new baby?Yes! We ended up spending a week with my parents 3-hours away. It was a little rough sleeping w/him in a new environment though
What has been the hardest thing? It's been tough adjusting to two kids. DS shows jealousy some times and it it tough on us at times too.
The easiest?Luckily he's an easy baby!
How has your recovery been?I still have abdominal pain at times.
Anything else you wanna add?I am shocked at how much harder it has been to lose the weight after #2....I have a long way to go Sad

How's baby sleeping? Pretty well! He does many 2 hour stretches night and day and is usally good for one 4 hour stretch during the day and at night. We've had some trouble the last couple of nights with crying from 9pm till 11pm and lots of burping! I remember Luke getting really irritable around the same age. I cut out caffeine and he was fine again. I'm on day 2 of no caffeine and I definitely notice a difference in Nick as well.
How's feeding (bf or ff) Aside from mastitis, great! He nurses and latches with no problems. The pain I'm having comes and goes. Its annoying to breastfeed away from home. I was at my parents the last two weekends and there was always sooo many people walking around. Its hard having to get up and nurse all the time. He is a big time cluster feeder in the evening.
Did you have a nice Christmas/new year with your new baby? Yes! It was wonderful. And Nick was baptized on New Years Day!
What has been the hardest thing? Having two is alot harder than I thought. It's hard to get things done which I find frustrating. I need to try to schedule my day better I think as well as learn to let things go a bit... aka maybe be content with cleaning one room everyday instead of wanting the WHOLE house clean at the same time!
The easiest? At first it was the weight loss haha. The week of Christmas I was 3lbs from my pre preg weight. I had a GOOD Christmas and new years and now I'm 8 pounds over my pre preg weight. I just want to eat all the time!
How has your recovery been? SOOO MUCH BETTER than the first time!!! My bleeding has gotten much better. I'm down to just liners now. I can't wait for it to stop. I'm in so much less pain than last time. Even with the mastitis I would still say my recovery is much better than the last time.
Anything else you wanna add? I love Nicholas Smile Not more than Luke, not less than Luke! I was so worried Luke wouldn't be special anymore. They are both awesome but different Smile

Baby's age: 7 weeks! Can't believe it.
How's baby sleeping? Not great but not horrible. Usually get a stretch of sleep from 1 to 4 am. Before that and after that it's a sleepy/fussy cycle. Thankfully I think his cold/congestion is mostly gone.
How's feeding (bf or ff) going? BFing, and it's going great! Gaining beautifully, no pain, supply has regulated I believe. He's only 9.5 pounds, but for a 35 weeker that's not too bad. He's trying to catch up!
Did you have a nice Christmas/new year with your new baby? Yep, it was great, not too busy. I was enjoying being able to sit and snuggle and nurse the baby with the older kids being old enough to just supervise from a chair. Next Christmas I will be chasing a toddler around the entire time and that's a lot more work!
What has been the hardest thing? Trying to attend to 3 kids all at once (because of course they all need me RIGHT NOW!). Not getting a nap during the day.
The easiest? Physically, my recovery has been awesome. Emotionally/hormonally, I feel great! With my 2nd baby, I felt SO overwhelmed and burned out, but this time I don't feel that way at all!
How has your recovery been? Uh, see above. Smile

How's baby sleeping? It really varies still. She does okay in her crib during the day when we roll it out to the living room or wherever we are, but at night she doesn't like it even when it's up against my side of the bed. we bought a cosleeper bed that goes in between our two pillows and she does okay in that most of the time. She still eats every 2-3 hours though, so a solid 3 hour stretch is pretty rare. This morning I actually bed shared with her after DH went to work, I was paranoid but exhausted so I did it. She slept soundly in the crook of my arm and I actually slept too. Almsot three hours! She also sleeps well in her swing but I wouldn't be okay leaving her in that unsupervised.
How's feeding (bf or ff) going? Quite well, she's gaining well and has lots of dirty diapers so she is getting what she needs. But if we try anything other than side lying in the bed, it's frustrating. I need positioning help.
Did you have a nice Christmas/new year with your new baby? It was very busy. But it wasa pretty good!
What has been the hardest thing? Lack of sleep and anxiety over DH going back to work and me carrying the load all during the day and mostly at night too, he needs sleep for work.
The easiest? Loving her Smile she is precious!
How has your recovery been? Long, slow, and hard. Not what I expected considering I had a vaginal birth.
Anything else you wanna add? I'm tired. Lol Wink

How's baby sleeping? Pretty good. Luckily she never really had her days and nights mixed up. We do a combo of co-sleeping and putting her in her co-sleeper at night. She usually gets me up a couple of times but goes around 3 hour stretches at the beginning and end and around 4 hours in the middle. The longest she slept was 8 hours one night! She is more awake now during the day, and sometimes we have a fussy period of crying at night... I've only been getting a solid 2 hour nap in her crib in the late afternoon on average, but sometimes more... like today. Then she just sleeps small spurts throughout the day. Can't wait to get on a daytime schedule!
How's feeding (bf or ff) going? We have had some issues... mostly that I oversupply and it makes her choke/gag. I started pumping in teh morning and another time in the afternoon to reduce my flow and that is helping. Keepin' keeping on!
Did you have a nice Christmas/new year with your new baby? Yea, it was fantastic.
What has been the hardest thing? My DH had sinus surgery last week, and it has been really hard to manage both kids and him. The other hardest thing is that we are already past the newborn stage! I'm so sad that it went so fast, but I'm loving all her little chubby rolls she is packing on and the baby smiles are the best!!!
The easiest? Lovin' her and having my whole family together for so long. My DH goes back to work on Monday, so it will be interesting after that.
How has your recovery been? Great! I have around 18 pounds to lose still, but I am all healed up and want to get back into a workout routine asap! Getting off BP meds tomorrow!
Anything else you wanna add? Wish I could post more! Most days are entirely too hectic and I am so neurotic that my "free" time is spent cleaning.

How's baby sleeping? he was sleeping great, now he wants to be held and nursed all night
How's feeding (bf or ff) going? fine, he is gaining weight, but he still does not latch right, pops off accidentally, all the time
Did you have a nice Christmas/new year with your new baby? yes, but I am so tired now.
What has been the hardest thing? Not eating and not sleeping
The easiest? loving him, I am so in love!!!
How has your recovery been? It was so hard with the blood pressure crap, but now I feel much better!
Anything else you wanna add? I am trying to enjoy this time, but I feel so much like I am neglecting my whole life when I am caring for him. It is hard to find balance. I also cannot wait to lose this pregnancy weight! I feel like a cow!

How's baby sleeping?Once she goes to sleep she will sleep 3 to 4 hour stretches at night but the last couple nights she hasn't gone to sleep until 1 am after several hours of crying.
How's feeding (bf or ff) going? Good, she has already gained almost a full pound
Did you have a nice Christmas/new year with your new baby?Great, had Dh's parents, brother, & sister here but they were very helpful and careful to let me nurse Claire whenever she wanted
What has been the hardest thing? Not being able to get stuff like cleaning and laundry done
The easiest?Loving her!
How has your recovery been?Very well. Feeling really good this week and only have 12 pounds to lose to be back at pre pregnancy weight.

How's baby sleeping? Varies - sometimes for 1-2 hour stretches up to 4-5 hours. Better at night now that we are co-sleeping more.

How's feeding (bf or ff) going? BF going well, able to do both sides without need constant stimulation to stay awake like before.

Did you have a nice Christmas/new year with your new baby? Low key overall though thought that having some family over for Christmas would be less stressful due to not driving, cooking, etc, but wore myself out trying to clean/organize house before and after visitors.

What has been the hardest thing? Realizing there will be compromises from how I planned to do things before his arrival in order to maintain our sanity, e.g., buying & using a pacifier; co-sleeping; housework not being done regularly

The easiest? Falling in love with him despite the sleep deprivation and messy house

How has your recovery been? Feeling so much better now that my blood pressure, hct, & liver enzymes have normalized. Also less vaginal/uterine pain except first thing in the morning.

Anything else you wanna add? I thought I would still be pregnant now (EDD was Jan 10) but I don't miss the hip pain or heartburn one bit

How's baby sleeping?
Eh, about the same. He is up every 1.5-2 hours all night. Maybe I can get 3 hours at a time every once in a while.
How's feeding (bf or ff) going?
WONDERFUL. It took a good solid 5 weeks of struggling and a lot of tears for him and me, but he has got it now! He hasn't had to have a bottle in over two weeks. I still have trouble getting him to latch sometimes, but 9/10 times he does it perfectly. I am so happy. I can't even describe it. It was a really hard 5 weeks of learning.
Did you have a nice Christmas/new year with your new baby?
I did, it was nice
What has been the hardest thing?
Our breastfeeding struggle. It was really hard. I had to work with him for 20 minutes sometimes to get him to latch and that was if he ever did latch at all. We tried a shield and that helped sometimes, but he never got enough that way and so I had to pump and give a bottle anyway. I am so relieved that he is nursing now.
How has your recovery been? It was hard the first week or so, but I am great now
Anything else you wanna add? I weighed yesterday and I am down 33 lbs from the day he was born and 27.3 from pre-pregnancy! I hope it keeps coming off easily!

Baby's age: 5 weeks tomorrow
How's baby sleeping? She was sleeping beautifully (3-4 hour stretches and would have no trouble going back to sleep after nursing) but a couple of nights ago she started not wanting to go back to sleep after nursing and just generallly being fussy all night long and hard to settle.
How's feeding (bf or ff) going? BF is going well- she's gaining weight like crazy but my nips still hurt- is that normal? Allyson has a very strong suck and she chomps down like a piranha, lol.
Did you have a nice Christmas/new year with your new baby? Yes
What has been the hardest thing? Finding the balance of spending enough time with Austin and still meeting Allyson's needs. Poor little guy plays a lot of Mario Cart on the Wii and Angry Birds during the day right now, lol.
The easiest? My recovery was a lot easier this time, and BFing has gone so much better this time also
How has your recovery been? Good - easier this time than last. At about 3 weeks out I started feeling pretty much back to normal- very little pain
Anything else you wanna add? Life is good! When I start getting stressed I just have to tell msyelf, what do I have to be upset or stressed about- I have a great hubby, 2 beautiful kids and I am so very blessed!

HA! yes, I totally did! I think I only slept 5 hours that night because I kept checking on him. I think that was a fluke because since then the most he does is 6. That was also the night after his frenectomy, I wonder if he was just so tired from the procedure.

How's baby sleeping? great all day but awake from 11p - 5a - its a killer!
How's feeding (bf or ff) going? BF is going ok. She pops on and off way too much so I'm pumping most of the time and giving her a bottle.
Did you have a nice Christmas/new year with your new baby? No Christmas with her this year but new years was ok. We didn't really do anything since we had just got home from the hospital the day before.
What has been the hardest thing? The round the clock pumping and her crazy night schedule.
The easiest? Deacon's attitude towards her. He hasn't been at all jealous and has been loving having "his baby" here with us.
How has your recovery been? Its getting better. The first few days in the hospital were rough and then when we got home it was hard to adjust to the bed and needing to do stuff around the house. My incision hurts but I am trying to avoid all pain meds so I can drive if I need to.
Anything else you wanna add? I feel like I am super busy from when I wake up to when I go to bed. There is never any free time and there is no way I can get everything done that needs to be done. However, I feel like the second baby is so much easier than the first because you know what to expect and are more relaxed, so that makes it all easier.

How's baby sleeping? Not too bad, but at night it seems at 12am-1:30ish she is wide awake. then on a 2-2.5hr sleep/eat pattern.
How's feeding (bf or ff) going? BF- going good. She has a tiny little mouth and doesn't open very big so my nipples are quite sore. Spoke with the maternity home visit program when she came over and not much I can do right now.

Did you have a nice Christmas/new year with your new baby?Yes, it was great. Since she came early i was a week into recovery and felt a lot better. Family did all the cooking/cleaning so it was great to have help.

What has been the hardest thing?
Recovery this time was more painful then the other sections- or maybe I don't remember the pain lol My incision area is still quite sore, feels bruised. I had a tubal done at the same time so they did mention that could be some of the burning pain on each side. And could use some more sleep at night lol

The easiest? Kids are great with her and have been helpful. Dh works from home so that has been a lot of help.

How has your recovery been?- Same as the hardest thing- although some days are great, then I do too much and that night or next day I feel it. I have had a lot of help as kids are on their christmas break and Dh at home .But it will be nice to get on schedule with the other kids. we all have been sleeping in late!

Anything else you wanna add? Love just holding Sophia- I am enjoying every moment Smile Lost 20lbs of the 50lbs I gained- can't wait to be able to start exercising.

How's baby sleeping? 2 hours is typical for one, 3 for the other ... so 1 for me?
How's feeding (bf or ff) going? Breastfeeding is going pretty good for one baby, awful for the other. I formula feed 25-50%.
Did you have a nice Christmas/new year with your new baby? Yep.
What has been the hardest thing? Being territorial.
The easiest? Falling asleep when there's a quiet moment.
How has your recovery been? Ok, I guess. How long are hemorrhoids supposed to last?
Anything else you wanna add? I wish it didn't make me seriously angry to read your responses regarding sleep, but I had to stop. Regular two-hour sleeps? The occasional five-hour stretches? I would like to say, "Good for you!" But yeah, I just can't read that without hating you with a passion.

How's baby sleeping? Pretty well, he only wakes up once a night now, around 4AM.

How's feeding (bf or ff) going? Fantastic! He's BF exclusively, and pumping has gotten much better while I'm at work (and at home!), and he has no nipple confusion either!

Did you have a nice Christmas/new year with your new baby? Yes it was wonderful!

What has been the hardest thing? Leaving him every day to come to work.

The easiest? Just loving him so much it's crazy!

How has your recovery been? Very easy, but I had a vaginal delivery with no epesiotomy or tearing!

Anything else you wanna add? Just that I can't wait to get home and snuggle with him!

How's baby sleeping? Decent wakes two or three times a night but goes right back to sleep.
How's feeding (bf or ff) going? Bf going great!
Did you have a nice Christmas/new year with your new baby? Yes
What has been the hardest thing? Trying to get on a sort of schedule with everyone. And I'm terrified to take all of the little ones out to the store by myself.
The easiest? Recovery. I've felt completely normal besides the bleeding since about the fourth day pp.

How's baby sleeping? Still most of the day and night. wakes to feed every couple hours during the day, and once or twice a night. We cosleep so I don't even know for sure how often he nurses in bed. haha

How's feeding (bf or ff) going? Exclusively breastfed. Really easy! my daughter (3.5 yrs) only really weaned when I was pregnant, so everything was smooth sailing this time around Smile

What has been the hardest thing? Staying organized

The easiest? Being at peace with my baby and family and taking care of his needs

How has your recovery been? great! baby weight is melting off and I'm in my pre-preg clothes. Still need to get to the gym and tone up Wink
