House?

I saw a couple people are closing on houses soon! So exciting.

So...just for fun, describe your house!

How many bedrooms-

Bathrooms-

Where will new baby sleep?

Something you love-

Something you hate-

Is your neighborhood kid friendly?

How is your lawn?

How many bedrooms- 4

Bathrooms- 2.5

Where will new baby sleep? First bedroom when you come up the stairs

Something you love- The garage, also that all of the bedrooms are close to one another upstairs. I don't even have to turn up the monitor to hear Nicholas when he is really crying.

Something you hate- No trees in the yard for shade.

Is your neighborhood kid friendly? Very much so, I believe that there are only a handful of neighbors that do not have kids.

How is your lawn? Bad shape, mostly our fault because it isn't a top priority. The grass is prickly from the heat and no watering, there are bare spots, lots of ants (trying to take care of this right now).

How many bedrooms- 3

Bathrooms- 1.5

Where will new baby sleep? In our room at first. Once baby gets older we will probably convert our garage into a master suite and then each child will have their own room. This is the plan for now. Who knows what we will end up doing.

Something you love - The size of our yard. It's HUGE!! We have a big fenced in backyard and a big front yard as well. The house was the corner lot in the neighborhood so it had twice as much yard as the other houses.

Something you hate - Not having a 4th bedroom....lol And our bathroom is pretty small as well.

Is your neighborhood kid friendly? For the most part yes. All of our immediate neighbors are super nice and we moved from a place out in the country to a neighborhood so it's nice that the kids can get out and ride their bikes and stuff. However, further down the road there is a little group of hoodlums (about 13-15 years old I would guess) and I am pretty sure they are responsible for breaking my step-sons toy he left outside and putting rocks and gum in our mailbox.

How is your lawn? Surprisingly it's green and beautiful Smile I was worried with the heat and lack of rain it would start to die but it's flourished and we don't water it at all. The ants, however, are driving me nuts and we treated the yard with bug killer to keep the fleas off our dog as well.

How many bedrooms- 4 with a den that we may use as a 5th if my mil moves down

Bathrooms-
3 full

Where will new baby sleep?
With us until 4/5 months and then either in his own room or I may have the boys share for a while.

Something you love-
4-5 bedrooms. That gives us a lot to work with! Also love that the kids have a jack and Jill between their rooms.

Something you hate- it's farther away from everything:( and no pool.

Is your neighborhood kid friendly?
Yep

How is your lawn?
Good, we have a half acre! The house we are in now has a pool bit no yard.

How many bedrooms- 3 - but will soon be 4 when we close in our dining room

Bathrooms- 2

Where will new baby sleep? in our room for a while

Something you love- our living room is big and open

Something you hate- the kids' rooms are at the front of the house by the front door and we are in the back

Is your neighborhood kid friendly? yes, very - sometimes its annoying. kids run free all day in the streets and no parents care. its a pain to get down the street in your car when 20 kids are playing ball in the middle of it.

How is your lawn? bad! we have been in a drought so its looking shabby. however, after a little rain its perky up the last day or two.

we rent a ranch-stye 1 level house

How many bedrooms- 2

Bathrooms-1

Where will new baby sleep? in our room at first, we will be moving right after the baby is born, but probably still with us. I don't think we need a 3 bedroom! So we will probably look for another 2 bedroom rental and keep the baby with us till s/he sleeps through the night and can sleep with Luke without disrupting him

Something you love- Its really cute and has a great yard

Something you hate- its COMPLETELY CARPETED!!!! Including the kitchen and the bathroom!!! It looks okay... but when I think about the fact we have lived here for two years and have NEVER washed the bathroom floor or the kitchen floor I about lose my mind, so gross!

Is your neighborhood kid friendly? Its certainly friendly, but nearly everyone on the street is 60 and over.... its more like grandparent friendly, but its great!

How is your lawn? Big! most of the time its very green till about August

Where will new baby sleep? In our room until about 6 months and then in the larger of the 3 other rooms on the other side of the 2nd bath.

Something you love- It's affordable so it is the most house we have ever had and the lowest payment. It is nice have a 2 car garage too and the extra rooms

Something you hate- We have already outgrown it and we want to move and the housing market is SO TERRIBLE here with every other house in foreclosure, it is going to take a miracle to sell the house. We are planning to put it up in September.

Is your neighborhood kid friendly? Sort of. Lots of kids but I am not especially keen on the neighborhood.

How is your lawn? Lawn is suffering due to our severe drought and a big freeze this last winter, but we are working on it and it is slowly coming around.

I have heard of a few carpeted bathrooms in my life, but I have *never* heard of a carpeted kitchen. What on earth are people thinking?? Who would choose to put carpet in those rooms?? That just baffles me. I would totally hate that too!

My husbands grandma has a carpeted kitchen and I thought that was the weirdest thing ever.

We just signed a contract & put down a deposit on a back house to rent in an awesome retro neighborhood in Long Beach. Smaller than almost all of yours I'm sure, but it's LA so a lot is different I would suppose. We move in Aug 1st & we will be blending our families. Crossing our fingers that it works out like we hope it does.

How many bedrooms- 3

Bathrooms- 2 full

Where will new baby sleep? With us at first & then probably w/ my girls....got them bunk beds yesterday.

Something you love- That it's a house. That it has a washer/dryer. That its over 100yo & classic Long Beach style. The neighborhood & that it's only 4 blocks to the beach Smile

Something you hate- Since it's old the bedrooms are TINY!! I have been SO spoiled at my current apt w/ a walk-in closet & everything. No more of that luxury.

Is your neighborhood kid friendly? Well, it's on a busy street. Not really where you would let your kids play outside. It's more an urban atmosphere w/ coffee shops, vintage clothing shops, an old-school theater & barber, etc...

How is your lawn? Haha...our lawn is the lawn of the couple in the front house. They have done an amazing job, but I wouldn't call it "ours."

It's a beach, but not one to swim at....more like one to play in the sand or at the park, fish off the pier, fly a kite, etc. It's Long Beach, we have the largest port in the nation & 2nd largest in the world. I can hear the ships fog horns coming in from China, etc from my bedroom window. I LOVE IT!

Only thing is, we have a breakwater (a huge wall that is made out of giant boulders). It protects the port & ships from the tide & the waves. If not for it LB would have some of the largest waves on the west coast Sad Because of it our water becomes stagnant & gross. People have been fighting & begging to get the breakwater taken out, but unfortunately I don't think it will ever happen.

People around here head out to Seal Beach or Huntington Beach to hit the waves & sunbathe. Seal is probably only like 5 miles or so...you can ride your bike.

We are closing next week, so I will descibe the new house, rather than the one we live in now.

How many bedrooms- 3

Bathrooms- 2

Where will new baby sleep? - Probably in our room at first, but will eventually sleep in it's own room (I will be so happy when I can stop referring to the baby as "it"!)

Something you love- Right now, my biggest love is the landscaping and the patio...and tons of closet space!

Something you hate- Hard to know just yet, because we haven't moved in, but I am already a little worried about the lack of counter space in the kitchen. We may have to build some additional countertops.

Is your neighborhood kid friendly? Seems to be.

How is your lawn? We don't have a lot of open lawn because there is a patio and lots of landscaping, but that's ok...less mowing to do.

Bathrooms- 2 1/2

Where will new baby sleep? In his bassinet in my room for the first few months, then in a crib in his own room.

Something you love- My vacation that's coming in just 9 days!

Something you hate- Two faced people...

Is your neighborhood kid friendly? Not really, I think most of our neighbors are renters and don't have kids... so I keep mine inside lol.

How is your lawn? I live in Vegas, we don't have lawns, just rocks lol!

Ours is an old brick 2-story 1920's house that we watched for about 2 years while it bounced around realtors, went to foreclosure, went to auction a couple of times, and then we finally got it. We've put a ton of work into it. We moved in last October at Halloween, and we plan on staying here for the next 40 or 50 years! Biggrin

How many bedrooms- 4. 3 up, 1 down.

Bathrooms-3.5. The half-bath is part of a laundry room, and the bath connected to the guestroom downstairs is the "froufy" bathroom, with awesome wood floors, a brass and crystal chandelier a lot like the ones the thieves who broke into our house stole before we finalized the closing, lots of huge mirrors, and other cool features. Smile

Where will new baby sleep? - In our room at first, then will move into DS1's room after a while--- DS1 sleeps in the old trunk room, which has a cool beadboard ceiling and funky plaid wallpaper. Blum 3

Something you love- The grounds. The garage apartment is pretty cool. And the maid's quarters out back. And the sleeping porch, leftover from pre-AC days. Smile Awesome all around.

Something you hate- Being able to afford such an awesome house only because it's an awesome house in the middle of nowhere. And it doesn't match the neighborhood... we didn't even get any trick-or-treaters last year because everyone was intimidated by the house. Sad

Is your neighborhood kid friendly? - I wouldn't call it kid-unfriendly, but B needs to get a little older before he can really keep up with any of the neighborhood kids.

How is your lawn? - Dormant right now. Smile

So...just for fun, describe your house!

How many bedrooms- 3

Bathrooms- 2

Where will new baby sleep? In the biggest spare bedroom, our former guest room

Something you love- the fact that it was brand new when we bought it, the living room, the yard, the pantry is HUGE

Something you hate- the living room is right next to the master...makes it hard to sleep if DH is up late watching tv

Is your neighborhood kid friendly? Pretty much

How is your lawn? Green, only because I water all the time Smile

JUST got off the phone with a promising potential landlord...so let's pretend this works.

How many bedrooms- 2

Bathrooms- 1

Where will new baby sleep? You mean babies? In the bedroom closest to the back of the house. Both bedrooms are the same, but they'll have to be the ones to get used to the train noise, I'm too old for getting used to that!

Something you love- HUGE backyard

Something you hate- Mini rooms/house

Is your neighborhood kid friendly? Eh ... maybe until they're old enough to join a gang.

How is your lawn? HUGE
