I cried **update #22**

Last night I was in so much pain I cried. It's getting really hard to walk by days end. I can't arrow down what I'm doing that's causing this horrible pain/stiffness in my left inner thigh area. It's crazy. It was at least a 9 on the pain scale. I've had 2 unmedicated births and this pain was worse!! So from 9pm last night until I fell asleep I layed in bed with the heating pad on high between my legs. I took my routine Tylenol PM. And slept my but off. Woke up feeling somewhat normal but after spending an hour in the car it's back! So I think just sitting is causing all the problems. So I think I'll experiment with either standing or laying down. No sitting! Thats going to be so hard. I mentioned to the doctor about but it sounds like there's nothing I can do but what I am doing already. Maybe a chiropractor could help? Pregnancy massage? I don't know. I don't see how I can do this for 10 more weeks Sad

Oh no Sad I am so sorry to hear you're in so much pain! If you're comfortable with it, I would try both a chiropractor and a massage therapist. I saw both for numbness and pain in my left hip and it has helped.

Oh Amanda, I'm so sorry you're in so much pain. Some of the ladies on the November board are describing the same type of pain that you're talking about... I've never experienced it before. And I hate that it seems as though whenever we have these pains and problems, the OB has nothing at all to offer us!

When you mentioned it to your doc did they say what could be causing the pain? I wonder if some sort of adjustment might help. Sad

Wonder if baby is pressing down on some sort of nerve? I am sorry that you're hurting so bad. My pain is located in my mid-back just below my shoulder blades. It is so hard to get relief. I can't sit for too long but I can't stand for too long either. It's very annoying. I know it's all worth it in the end but getting there is not going to be fun!

That sounds like the same pain my coworker had with her last pg. She had to be written out of work because it was so bad.

I agree with the other girls that a massage and some chiropractic adjustments might help. I hope you're feeling better soon, poor thing. It sucks to be in that much pain with 10 weeks to go.

Is it the baby's weight on your sciatic nerve? Every once in awhile I get a bad pain down the back of my right leg & I'm pretty sure it's sciatic pain.

Good luck. Sad

I guess it could be. I've never had that or this before. Doc did mention it could be the way baby is sitting but I think it's more of an adjustment type thing. It's been around for about 2 months progressively getting worse and last night and today were just the straw to break the camels back so to speak.

I was also thinking sciatic nerve pain. It tends to be in your legs and can be excruciating. I thought what I had was sciatica but I'm thinking now it's just lower back pain. Anyway, I would absolutely find a chiropractor if I were you. This website will help you find one who is Webster-certified in your area (they have additional training for working on pregnant women and techniques for helping with baby positioning)

I have the same pain in my left groin area. I have gone for some massages but didn't have that area massaged. It sure helps the back and hip soreness. I woke up the other morning with severe muscle cramps in my calves. Good thig that was the morning I was going in for the massage.

Keep us posted if the chiropractor helps- I may have to try that.

Is yours like a muscle or tendon thing? Where it gives out? It's so scary for me especially if I happen to be carrying my youngest. I've been cutting back on that because I probably need to anyway.

The past two nights I've been putting a heating pad on the area and that helps temporarily(for about 30-45 minutes) but I just can't lay down with the hearing pad all day. Kids aren't going for it. Lol

Not entirely sure exactly what it is- i am thinking a tendon thing. Its right at my left groin and if I move my leg the wrong way like getting out of bed, turning over in bed, walking too fast or even out of the car its a very sharp pain. I have tried massaging myself for relief but it doesn't help much.
Try icing it , I have been using a ice pack in a towel but the same thing it is only temp help and i hear you- don't have the time to lay down all day lol Sometimes I wish.

good luck Amanda!!!

have you had pubic bone pain? sometimes with pregnancy as the pubic bone relaxes the adductor muscles can become very tense/painful/strained. Those are the muscles that travel from your groin down your inner thigh to help move and stabilize your leg. Every time you move your leg, the adductors will pull from your pelvis and can cause alot of pain.

I hope the chiro can help you!! good luck!!

I haventhad any bone pain but what you describe sounds like what I was thinking. I just didn't have the right words. Thanks for explaining it like that.

Yay! It has helped for now. It took just about 5-10 minutes after I left for me to feel better. But darn it if i just sat on my hard dining room chairs helping Jacob get school work done. And it came back. They told me to ice for 20 minutes of an hour if I got pain there. But it definetly feels better. He adjusted my back and hips. That felt good he also used this massager thing in the area and I'm not sure the baby liked it Lol kind of jumped when he put it on. Lol

I go back on Wednesday for a follow up on the initial testing they did. And I guess to work out a plan for treatment.

He also said it's probably just a temporary pregnancy side effect and I may not need adjustments for it afterbaby comes. The chiro was really nice and explained everything he was going to doand encouraged me to speak up if there was something I wasn't comfortable with(thank goodness considering the proximity to sensitive areas where I have the issue).

So Shannon, look into seeing a chiro. Im certain it's going to help me if not completely eliminate the pain at least make it more manageable and livable.

I will have to look into it then- they have a chiropractor at the place I go for massage. The ice does make things better for a bit, but a bit of adjusting might help too. You will have to keep me posted on how the treatments go. We go out of town friday toflorida for a week but when I get back I will have to ask about chiro. Thanks and glad to hear it helped you so far! I work in reception at my work and sit almost 10 hrs a day- so I try to get up and move around so I know this doesn't help the problem..
