Insane Insomnia Still!

Sorry, I have to vent!

For the past 3 nights I have woken up at 3:30-4am and could not go back to sleep. I get no more than 6-hours a night. Well today has reached a whole new level!!!!!!

Went to bed at 10:30 last night and I took TWO Benadryl. DH came to bed at 1am and woke me up (I will kill him for this in a few hours when he wakes up ). I then took a Unisom at 1:30. It is 4:30 am and I am WIDE AWAKE. How can this be that I have 2 Benadryl & a Unisom in my system & I feel like I could go for a jog right now??

Seriously! The only thing I can think of is I am super congested. Feels like there is cotton packed up in my nose and my ears feel like I just got off a plane.

I have to work today too, I'm going to be a wreck. I already feel irritable (can you tell?) and weepy.

I feel so bad for you. Ugh. I'll pray you get a few good nights in before baby arrives.

I have been on that exact schedule for a month now. I have no idea why and I only get a nap about once or twice a week. If I am lucky. I hope you get some rest my friend. Sorry you have to work on top of it all. Sad

I am SO sorry - this has been the same for me and it is the most agitating thing EVER!! I know it's hard but I find it best to just give in and lay there and "rest" as much as you can. If you get really upset it just makes it worse and sleep is even less likely. I have resigned to the fact that my sleepless nights started with pregnancy, not with the birth of our child. It can't possibly get any worse than this in terms of sleep when the baby's here!

I hope at least your work is somewhat understanding and you don't have a super busy day ahead. When I have a rough night they sometimes let me work from home, which helps a lot.

Huge hug - hope you get through the day ok!

I'm there with you! I can't fall asleep for anything. And then I had to get up 4 times to use the bathroom. And it wasn't just going a little bit because the baby was putting pressure and giving me the urge. I mean my bladder was completely full! It takes me at least 30 minutes after each bathroom break to get back to sleep. It's killing me.

thanks for letting me vent. It's 9am and I never went back to sleep. I still think I'm going to call in sick because my brain is mush right now. It's weird, I feel like I just drank a pot of coffee spiked with rum! I'm super alert but confused. ugh!

Sorry Amy. Grrr! I feel your frustration. Do you think this rush of energy & alertness could be your nesting phase? Just a thought....

I am finally starting to get up nightly to go to the bathroom, on top of being sick & unable to sleep well for 3 weeks!

Very possible! Yesterday was nursery day. I washed all DS old clothes and we got it set up.

Another reason could be I took two Sudafed yesterday for congestion (yes, I know I sound like a pill popper!), one at 6am and one at 6pm. At 1am when I woke up my heart was racing. I wonder if that was the cause :/

I saw your more recent post and was going to add that decongestants have exactly that same effect on me - no sleep and racing heart. So I never take them. I hope the switch will help. FWIW, I get that weird energy rush when I am totally sleep deprived too, just before I crash.

I feel your pain. I have not slept much this past week...maybe 3-4 hours a night. Insomia is kicking my butt and probably not helping how I deal with high school teenagers all day.
