    Default Interesting evening...

    Sorry this is long!!

So for the past week and a half I have had tons of BH that are increasing in strength, plus contractions and the sense that the baby is dropping even lower. So yesterday I spent a good amount of the afternoon bouncing and rocking on my exercise ball and really trying to stretch my hips and pelvis open. When DH got home from work we had a good dinner and then went out for a late walk around 10pm or so. Well, on the walk I kept up a pretty good pace (except on the hills haha) but at least six or seven times I had to stop short and double over in extreme pain!! I think it was cervical pain, like a big sharp shooting jab. Or maybe the baby hit a nerve? Not sure, but it felt like she was going to fall out! I also had five good contractions, not BH (though I think I had those in between contractions, I felt tight the whole time).

So then we get home, watch a movie on the couch and I'm feeling okay until the end of it. Climb into bed, and almost right away I start getting wave-like contractions, maybe every 8 minutes or so? I got up and had a bath at 2am to try and calm them so I could sleep. I was in for about 45 minutes and had maybe only three. Back in bed, I kept having contractions again, pretty regular ones too. They were enough that I had to really be quiet and breathe deeply through them. Baby would go crazy with activity in between them too! I was exhausted though so managed to fall asleep eventually. This morning I haven't had too much activity, but I haven't been up long.

The one thing is that despite all these contractions I haven't had a single bit of spotting or show of any kind is it possible to go into true labour without that? I will feel really discouraged if this goes on for yet another week.

Thanks for reading if you made it this far lol!!

I've had the same pains and such and I've not had any spotting either. Walking for long distances is excruciating. I don't know if baby is sitting on a nerve or what but I get these sharp pains on the inside of my thighs and they stop me in my tracks. I cannot move until they subside and it seems the more I move, the more the pain is there. I have only had a few painful contractions so I think mine are still more of the BH and I have noticed that I feel him lower in my pelvis as well. I know this because he likes to do things to my cervix and makes me cringe with pain. I don't know what he was doing to it last night. Either rubbing his head on it or hitting it with his hand but he kept jabbing this one spot and it would send a sharp pain into my vagina and I thought I was going to die!!

I get that too with the head giving me lots of pain! It's like she is shaking it back and forth and I'm just cringing the entire time lol!

I didn't have show for most of my kids until I was past a six. And it was brought on by cervical exam.

I keep looking for bloody show too. It sounds like you are really close to baby time! Keep walking! And DTD. I swear it does something.

Ugh I feel your pain! I'm so sick of being pregnant with a million labor symptoms and no progress.

I have no idea where I am at since I am just now 36 weeks. My checkup is Monday and I hope he checks for dilation and effacement when he does the GBS test.

Sorry you are so uncomfortable hilary, but it sounds like good things are happening.

It's common for women to not have any sign of show our their plug & still have their LO.

Thanks ladies!! I feel a little more hopeful now knowing I could go into labour without any spotting/show. This afternoon was pretty quiet, but now things are picking up again. I think we will spend the evening trying all the tricks to get baby to come on out already!

Wow, sounds like things are moving for you. I know it's frustrating but maybe all this action will mean that your body is getting well prepared for the real thing?

For the past few days I keep getting BH's too - I guess I was having them all along, but I didn't know what they were. I got one at my doctor's while she was trying to check baby's position, and she told me what it was. They sometimes hurt a little. I've been getting the sharp shooting pains in what I assume is my cervix for the past week or so - they are not fun! Embarrassing too, when you walk around in public and suddenly have to bend over and grab your crotch in pain! I think it's the baby bouncing around on your cervix with her head, hopefully leading to some dilation or effacement. Maybe pinching a nerve or two. I get that pain right up my vagina and also down my left inner thigh, along with a nice pinched nerve/thigh crampy feeling. Lovely!

Good luck tonight - hope you can convince your little girl to make an appearance very soon! It sure sounds promising.
