I am 12 weeks and until now I have stayed pretty steady at my pre-pregnancy weight just gaining and losing the same pound or two. This week I am down 3 lbs and am not hungry. I get nauseous if I eat anywhere near the amount I use to at a regular meal and for the last week very little has even looked good enough for me to eat. I'm 5'7 and weighed 142 before I got pregnant so I do need to gain some weight for a health pregnancy. I feel bad complaining because I know a lot of you are trying not to gain too much weight but I'm starting to get a little worried. Is this just a stage? Anyone have any advice?
You're fine, especially since you've been so nausious. In reality, you're not supposed to gain any weight in the first trimester, only 1/2 lb a week in the second trimester, and 1 lb a week in the third. Now, this is for people who are average weight (which you are) and changes drastically for people who are over/under weight. What does your Dr. say?

I wouldn't worry too much. You seem to be at a healthy weight. I have been through several weeks of not wanting to eat anything and not being able to clear my plate at mealtime. Like Krystal said, you really aren't supposed to gain a lot of weight and I think personally that even the amount of weight that we are "expected" to gain is a bit much. As long as your doctor isn't worried, you should be fine.
i wouldn't worry about it either. As long as you are staying hydrated its fine. losing weight is just as normal as gaining. My first pregnancy i didn't gain any weight until 22 weeks. I'm down 5-7lbs, depending on the day, for this pregnancy. You will catch up later

Thanks for the reassurance! Doctor didn't seem worried at my last appointment but she said she would like to see me have gained close to 10 pounds by my 20 week appointment which seemed a little high to me so I haven't worried about gaining and figured it would happen eventually but seeing my weight go down instead started to get to me.
Your body will guide you with the weight gain. My dr. told me to gain a little weight at my 18 week appt because I hadn't gained anything...I indulged in a milkshake or two but didn't do anything drastically different. It turned out I gained most of my preg weight in the third tri. Just make healthy choices and you will be fine.
and just to add, i gained 30lbs with my last pregnancy, and not an ounce of it was before 22 weeks. It will happen, trust me! lol
