MIA (and a belly pic)

Hi girls,

I've been a little MIA for the past week, as I was away at a conference for work and even though I took my laptop along, the hotel wanted to charge $10 a day to use the wi fi in the room! Anyway, I was in Washington DC for the week and the conference was long, slow torture. I have a hard time sitting for 8-9 hours straight, particularly now that I'm pregnant. I did take a belly pic while I was away. It's a little blurry, but the lighting was so much better in the hotel than it is in my house. My next appointment is this Thursday. I'm so excited to start seeing some gender announcements on the board!

What a cute pic! You look great! Smile

Did you do any sightseeing while you were in DC? I've never been and DH and I were thinking about taking our baby moon there soon.

We did have one day when the sessions ended at noon and we took an open-top bus tour of the city. It cost around $35 per person, but it takes you all around the city and stops in many locations, so you can hop off and on the buses if you want to stop for pictures or to visit museums. I would highly recommend visiting the Natural History and American History museums, but it depends what you like I guess. You can also go to the Air and Space Museum and the National Gallery, to name a few. Of course, the White House and the monuments are great to see too. Georgetown is great if you like restaurants and shopping. DH and I are thinking about going back in the Fall, but we will probably just take the metro to get around. It's cheaper and it's a very nice system compared to some other city railways. Parking will cost you about $32 per day, but you can also park and ride the metro into the city, which is much cheaper (around $5 a day). How long are you planning to stay?

You look wonderful!! How sweet is that baby bump! I am sorry the conference was a bummer but it must have been neat to take a tour of the city.

I have a big trade show conference in august where I will be standing and walking through a trade hall for 9 hours. I don't look forward to doing that 6 months pregnant!

Great bump. It's perfect. Smile

The open topped bus tour sounds really cool. Thanks for all the info. I'm going to look into all that. We will probably stay 4 or 5 nights. Thats a good idea about taking the metro to get around. Our anniversary is in July and we like to take a trip around that time, but we are procrastinators and don't usually book our trip til the last minute. Last year we went to Vegas, and this year I realized that I'm almost 30 and I've never been to my nations capital, which I think is kinda sad. We are just debating on going to Florida to the beach...and cool off in the ocean!
