Mommies w/ newborns......

So I am thinking about buying some newborn diapers off Amazon, but am just wondering about what size since I'm not really sure how big she will be. Both of my other girls were 8.6 & I think I used newborn w/ them.

For those that have already had their babies: What size diapers are you using & how big was your baby?

Thanks in advance. Smile

Trystan was 9lbs 1 oz. Thankfully I had only bought one bag on newborn size diapers, as he only fit them that first week! To be on the safe side I suggest only buying size one diapers and above, and then when baby arrives you can go buy newborn ones if you need them. Remember, the hospital will give you a bag of newborn size diapers to take home, so it's not like you're going home with nothing that fits baby!

I agree with Krystal. Although Deacon was 8.3 and was in NB for a while. Right now I have 4 big boxes of NB diapers as well as loose diapers that came off the diaper cake. I have WAY TOO MANY NB diapers and am hoping I can exchange them later.

I used two of the small nb bags of diapers. We are using ones now because he started peeing out of them.

With Brynna we didn't buy NB diapers and I asked for Ryan that if people got diapers to get sizes 1 and up. For most babies and I know there are exceptions, they aren't in the NBs long so it would be easier to just stop and buy some on your way home if they are in that size. If you wanted maybe just buy one bag to have at your house and then buy them as necessary.

ETA: I don't think I would buy them off Amazon because you would want to be able to return them easily should she outgrow them before another package was opened.

Well at nearly 11 lbs we jumped right on over NB Smile Even in the hospital they had to call peds and get size 1 Wink He is comfortably in size 1 though I imagine we'll move to 2 in a couple weeks

Luke was 7.5 pounds at birth and dropped to under 7 before gaining. He was in newborns (pampers swaddlers) for 3 weeks or so. I bought a case of newborns for Nick. I would never buy diapers in a store!! You ladies realize they are 30% off on amazon right?? And free shipping Biggrin

Nicholas was 7lbs 15oz and we were in newborns for about the same time, 3 weeks. We went through 12 diapers/day on average so I bought a box of 120something for Emily. That way it will last about 10 days. I will take all that I can from the hospital too so hopefully that will have us covered. Also, we bought them from Sam's club because the price was comparable with Amazon and that way if I don't need them I can exchange them no problem for a credit.

I buy Target brand and I believe it's still cheaper per unit (.194 cents) than purchasing on Amazon - or close enough that it's easier to not have to think ahead and order Wink

For the early sizes (NB, 1 etc) though buying in a store makes sense to me so you can easily exchange if you happen to give birth to a 3 month old like I did Wink I didn't buy any NBs though b/c I expected a big baby and I figured it would be easier to go back and buy a pack then to exchange them.

Yep - We do subscribe and save too and get 30% off. However, they just changed it to 20% off for new enrollees. Kind of stinks but its still easier than going to the store.

Jonah is almost 3-weeks old and we are still buying newborn diapers. He is 6lbs 10oz. I suspect we will be in them for a few more weeks. Maybe just buy one pack of each and then send SO out for more once LO is here.

Evelyn is 6lbs, 7 oz right now and the size ones at the hospital are huge! I'm not sure that the cloth diapers I have will fit her yet so we might be using newborn sposies for awhile.

Jamie and Allie were 8 lbs 13 oz and 8 lbs 9 oz. They used newborn in the hospital and maybe 2 weeks after. Luke is 7 lbs 6 now and they still kind of swallow him. He is really small to me lol. I think he will be in them for at last 2 more weeks.

Same here! I have a stash of newborn diapers that I've giving to a friend since they don't fit Connor.

Ryan is in newborn diapers and will be for a while - they are HUGE on him. Pampers swaddlers seem to fit a little smaller than the huggies, so we will be buying pampers. He was 6 lbs 1 oz at birth and is now 5 lbs 15 oz.

I love amazon! I order my diapers, wipes, baby shampoo and lotion and breast milk storage bags from them! It's cheaper than the store and you get free two day shipping, can't beat that!

We are still in NB diapers, Gianni is 7lbs 11oz right now at 3 weeks old so he will be in them for a little longer. All my boys were in NB size for at least a month. So I ordered a 240 count and they are almost all gone already, we have only been home for 2 weeks.

Elaina is probably a little over her birthweight now (8lbs 5oz) and we still are using pampers NB swaddlers.

(as an aside we are using disposable while I'm on bed rest and can't help with laundry...now I feel like we will never get to use our NB cloth, grrrr!!)
