    Default Mommies w/ newborns......

So I am thinking about buying some newborn diapers off Amazon, but am just wondering about what size since I'm not really sure how big she will be. Both of my other girls were 8.6 & I think I used newborn w/ them.

For those that have already had their babies: What size diapers are you using & how big was your baby?

    Thanks in advance. =)

Trystan was 9lbs 1 oz. Thankfully I had only bought one bag on newborn size diapers, as he only fit them that first week! To be on the safe side I suggest only buying size one diapers and above, and then when baby arrives you can go buy newborn ones if you need them. Remember, the hospital will give you a bag of newborn size diapers to take home, so it's not like you're going home with nothing that fits baby!

I agree with Krystal. Although Deacon was 8.3 and was in NB for a while. Right now I have 4 big boxes of NB diapers as well as loose diapers that came off the diaper cake. I have WAY TOO MANY NB diapers and am hoping I can exchange them later.

I used two of the small nb bags of diapers. We are using ones now because he started peeing out of them.

With Brynna we didn't buy NB diapers and I asked for Ryan that if people got diapers to get sizes 1 and up. For most babies and I know there are exceptions, they aren't in the NBs long so it would be easier to just stop and buy some on your way home if they are in that size. If you wanted maybe just buy one bag to have at your house and then buy them as necessary.

ETA: I don't think I would buy them off Amazon because you would want to be able to return them easily should she outgrow them before another package was opened.

I think newborns are out of the question....I may be carrying her in my belly until she's 3 anywhoooo. lol.

Thanks for the input. I will definitely be putting my diaper buying on hold for now.

Luke was 7.5 pounds at birth and dropped to under 7 before gaining. He was in newborns (pampers swaddlers) for 3 weeks or so. I bought a case of newborns for Nick. I would never buy diapers in a store!! You ladies realize they are 30% off on amazon right?? And free shipping

Nicholas was 7lbs 15oz and we were in newborns for about the same time, 3 weeks. We went through 12 diapers/day on average so I bought a box of 120something for Emily. That way it will last about 10 days. I will take all that I can from the hospital too so hopefully that will have us covered. Also, we bought them from Sam's club because the price was comparable with Amazon and that way if I don't need them I can exchange them no problem for a credit.

I buy Target brand and I believe it's still cheaper per unit (.194 cents) than purchasing on Amazon - or close enough that it's easier to not have to think ahead and order

For the early sizes (NB, 1 etc) though buying in a store makes sense to me so you can easily exchange if you happen to give birth to a 3 month old like I did I didn't buy any NBs though b/c I expected a big baby and I figured it would be easier to go back and buy a pack then to exchange them.
