More ice please

I feel like I could get full all day on ice. I prefer it over everything else. It is quiet possible that I consume all of my water through ice. Anyone else crave it?

Anything in particular that you guys are craving that you have to have daily?

For the longest time it was ice cream. I had it every day. Since I was diagnosed with GD and the weather is getting cooler, it's been peanut butter. I eat it by the spoonful!

Carrie - I was on a PB trip for a while too. I have a jar at my desk and would have a few spoonfuls every afternoon.

I'm sure your dr has checked, since I think many drs often do a CBC with the glucose test, but craving ice can be a sign of anemia. I use to crave it like crazy (I wasn't pregnant at the time), and had some unrelated bloodwork done for an upcoming surgery. Sure enough, I was anemic. Once I started taking iron pills, the craving went away.

I would imagine your craving is probably just preggo....but something to be aware of!

As far as my own cravings....just sugar. And more sugar. Not too good for my weight gain....

Yep, this. Up the iron rich foods and check to make sure your prenatal has plenty of iron in it, and see if that helps. I have a friend with severe anemia and she just has to eat ice all day long. She has even chipped a tooth because of it.

I posted about this awhile back. I swear I could just eat ice instead of a meal....lol My mind just won't stop thinking about it until I have a few pieces at least. It's my staple at work. They love to tease me about it. I almost always have a cup full of ice in my office.

I do need to mention it because I haven't been checked since I first got pg. Thanks for the reminder.

Jessicah - I WISH it was just a few pieces that I craved. I can eat through about 5 cups of ice in an hour or so while sitting at my desk. I even go through drive throughs and skip the drink and up size to the largest cup for the ice. You know McDonald's won't give you a cup of ice? I said 'ok, charge me for a drink and just don't give me any liquid" Geez! I'm actually surprised no one has complained about the sound yet.

A few pieces will satisfy the urge if I don't have time to just sit down and eat it. I eat cup after cup after up of it when I am at work and just sitting around at home. My husband laughs at me because if we eat out somewhere he always teases, "I bet you want this cup of ice don't you?" after he finishes his drink. Brynna has actually picked up on it. We were watching a movie the other day and instead of popcorn we both munched on ice....lol

Ice? Fine! But no eating dirt Jenn!! And yes, get checked Smile They should've checked your levels again when they did your blood test a few weeks back.

Note to self: Omit Dirt Cake from weekend plans. Wink I have heard of women craving dirt actually.

Blood test? When? I don't think I've had a blood test since the 12 week testing.

Oh gosh - can you imagine?! How in the world do you satisfy that craving?

I guess she kept alcohol pads in her backpack. So weird. My sister said she would rub them on the back of her hand and then sniff her hand. LMAO Erin said the girl was so embarrassed by it but couldn't stop.

I missed the sniffing part and assumed she craved them to eat. LOL

Gee I feel like a total bore compared to this. I literally haven't had a single craving that was "out of the ordinary" this pregnancy. I haven't even been eating more ice cream or anything. I keep waiting for it but nothing happens. DH is very disappointed - he was hoping I would bring tons of junk food into the house :D.

I don't crave ice but I'll down a ton of water if it's ice cold Lol then crunch the ice.

I haven't had any cravings really either. :/
