My appointment yesterday

I was a mess lol. Connor is measuring big everywhere but his legs. His head at one point was 37 weeks  But she kept redoing it so I think she decided it was more like 35 weeks. He's over 5lbs already and head down. Although I think he flipped back to breech like 20 minutes ago the little booger.

My doctor is concerned due to me having a huge fibroid and a family history of complications etc. He mentioned a c-section. He said he wouldn't go for it unless the baby was in distress so I'm glad he's not saying I totally need one etc. But still it's out there and has me worried.

I was feeling guilty because I was over weight when I got pregnant and even though I've lost weight this pregnancy I feel like my dh family is going to judge me for having a big baby. Its hormonal silliness I know. So I come back in 2 weeks and have a NST test and we'll see from there. Connor wasn't in the mood to move during the scan yesterday so hopefully he'll feel better in 2 weeks lol.

I don't know why i was so/am still a little upset over everything I think it was just shocking to see how big the baby was measuring and stuff. Oh and he's still a boy!! Whew!

Awww! Don't feel guilty. Underweight people have 9 or 10 pound babies too!! Just think of it this way, you're doing a great job growing a big strong healthy boy Smile

I agree, he is big and strong! Also I would like to remind you the scans can be wrong. I know a few ladies who were told the needed to be induced because they had large babies (over 9 lbs) nad their babies were under 6!!!!! Serious! Don't worry yet!

I would rather hear the baby is too big than too small. You doing just what you need to grow a healthy boy! It's hard not to think about what other people might think. Try not to worry about. People think what they think and all you can do is the best you can and your doing it!! Congrats on your healthy baby boy.

Don't feel guilty- I would say there is better nutrition out there these days and the babies are getting bigger lol My friend who is in awesome shape, kickboxer- just had a 9lbs boy and my dh cousin just had a 10lb girl!!

Continue growing that healthy boy- and the scans are not always right- they can be off a pound or two! I know lots of people told they were going to have 9lb+ babies- and they were around 7lbs.

*lurker from January*

I totally agree that the size of the mother doesn't mean a thing in terms of the size of the baby....but I know what you mean about people judging you. Not everyone knows that and people just assume. My mom is very tiny -- 5'1" and probably 110 pounds when she had me. And I was 9lbs 4oz., and only 'overdue' by a day. And big babies are kind of nice.... my DS was tiny, only 6lbs, 10oz, and my DD was 8 lbs, 6oz. DD was much stronger and less fragile feeling. As long as you are healthy, a big baby is just a big baby!

Yes!!! I have heard of this happening over and over. I can totally relate to how you are feeling. My baby is weighing about 4 lbs 7 oz, according to the u/s and even thought the midwife didn't express any concern about her being too big, I am really worried that she is going to be huge because she has grown so much and so quickly in the past 2 weeks alone. If she keeps going at this rate, she's going to be a giant. Hopefully, things will slow down. But seriously, don't let what others think bother you. My mom had big babies and she was tiny in her younger years. So many different factors play a role. I agree with the others...as long as you and baby are healthy, it shouldn't matter.

Awww sorry to hear they upset you. I have also heard of many stories of ultrasounds being wrong on the weight. My friend who is tiny and weighs 100 lbs had a 9 oz baby, so all is possible and certainly not your fault. I hope you feel better.

Congrats on a good appt! Being overweight doesn't have anything to do with your baby's size at all. The only thing that can affect that is gestational diabetes. I'm considered overweight, and my babies weights have been 7 lbs, 8 oz... 8 lbs, 7 oz, and 7 lbs, 3 oz.

Thanks everyone. I've been mulling it and realize rationally that its all in my head. I am very happy that the baby is healthy. I guess its been irking me about my MIL calling him fat since his profile shot from his 23 weeks anatomy scan lol.

But really thank you so much for the kind words and everything. I'm in a much better place hormonaly and emotionally at least today LOL

My mom was a tiny person when she gave birth to my almost 9lb sister. Don't let them bring you down. Healthy is all that matters. Smile :bighug:

Crissy, Don't fret! This is your pregnancy & your experience. It's your time to be happy & experience amazing things.

And like the others I am here to tell you weight doesn't matter. Here is my experience:

I started pregnancy 1 at 145 & gave birth to an 8.6 baby after gaining 60.

I gained another 60 w/ girl 2 & gave birth to another 8.6 baby weighing 210lbs going in.

I lost all that weight + more & started this pregnancy at 126. I figured the baby would be smaller b/c of my size & my lower amount of gain (so far only 25 or so pounds) & NOPE! They are saying this one will probably top 9 pounds.
