Thread: Naming progress

How is it going girls?? I'm jealous of those of you with names picked already!

With DS we had the name picked out right when we knew it was a boy & we never looked back. This one is a little tougher for us! We were dead set on Andrew (Drew) John until we found out it was a boy and now I am 100% against it Then I was all about Noah, now not at all.

This week we have it narrowed down to two:

Josiah John (or Luke, or Ray) (Dh's favorite)

and

Xavier Luke (or John or Ray) (My favorite)

I honestly think we may not know until this one is born.

Yay for some naming progress. It drove me crazy the three days baby girl didn't have a name but that is just my nature. Try saying those a few times outloud and see what sounds better for you OR you may just have to see him first to pick out the perfect one. Either way I am sure you will decide eventually.

We are having a girl. We are looking at:

Jessie Mae

Noelle (if she is born close to christmas, no middle name yet)

Mabel

We really LOVED Clementine, but we HATE Clem. =/

And we really want to do the middle name of "baby duck." I doubt we will, but it is definitely on the table. lol

No progress on names on our end- I think we will wait to get it closer to a couple names once we find out the sex. My DD has a list started with all the names we like including her name choices lol. But no definite for either sex yet. Everyone seems to know what they are having yet- I won't find out till the ends of the month and can't wait to find out so we can get started on everything including names!!

We have spent hours on hours looking for a name and still have nothing solid. We had Claire picked out when I was pg with DS and now we may still use it but probably won't.

I ask Dh several times a day to pick a name (of the options I gave him, lol) and he says we still have 5 months - GRRRR!

We had DS and DD's names picked out way way way before I was ever pregnant. This time was fun, actually getting to think it over.

ds and dd have family names. Ds is a IVth so his whole name is after dh, fil and dh's grandfather. Dd is Allison Rain, after my grandma who had the name Alice and my mom who has the middle name Alice. Rain, because we loved it.

This time we are going with Lucas William if the baby is a boy. Lucas I love, wanted it for dd if she had been a boy. William after dh's maternal grandfather.

If the baby is a girl her name will be Alaina (Lainey) Brooklyn. Alaina because we love it and Brooklyn after my niece who passed away shortly after birth 6 years ago because her middle name was Brooke and my MIL because her middle name is Lynn.

I can't wait to find out which we are having.

We haven't even cracked a name book yet.

With DS1, we narrowed it down to our top two candidates, and waited until we got to see him in person before we knew which name fit him better. (DH's favorite won. ) Nothing wrong with waiting-- just make sure you have a decoy name to throw around so people don't get too attached to your runner-up names!

I have one name that I really love. I haven't mentioned names to dh, but I'd like him to come up with a list of names that he likes so I can veto them. LOL (just kidding)

We have had our first names picked for quite awhile...practically by five weeks I think, lol. Then we flip flopped on them for a few weeks, and tried out a few other names, but never found anything we liked better so we felt really sure on our choices. Our girl middle name finally came to us this weekend, so we are set!

Connor Alexander & Elaina Rose

I have been begging my husband to start on names and he just won't!! It's driving me crazy. I hate referring him to "baby". I only have one name on my list and I am absolutely in love with it and can't even imagine calling this baby anything else at this point. I've given DH the name and he likes it but hasn't said if that's what he would name him or not. It's driving me crazy!
