    Default NIP!

I never nursed in public with Nicholas but today, at 5 days old, I NIP at the park with Emily!!! I had my cover so it was no big deal. We just couldn't pass up the opportunity when we passed by the park on the way home from Emily's dr. visit (went well, she's at 6lbs 6oz though). I think I feel more confident this time thanks to my nursing tank tops. They keep me covered on my belly no matter what and that is where I am self conscious.

Anyone else going to NIP or already has?

Nice. I haven't figured out the nursing tanks and everything yet. When are we supposed to have time for shopping?! In any case, I did nurse my daughter once in sort-of public (in the car at In-N-Out) and I was surprised it went ok without too much screaming from her. I bought one of those half-tank thingies that supposedly connects to my bra to keep my belly covered but haven't tried it out yet. My horrifying gross belly is definitely going to make me self conscious!

I haven't tried it yet, but I'm sure I will eventually...and I'll be going to a lot of family functions this weekend so there is no doubt I will have to nurse while we are out and about.

Yup we were shopping and I nursed out and about. It doesn't bother me at all. I nursed Evan out and about a few times. On the flip side my family and DH's family are a bunch of weirdos who can't handle nursing at all and I don't have the energy to deal with them all so I just go upstairs when we're at their homes.

Haven't tried it yet but I do have one good nursing tank. Hoping I will be able to figure it out. I nursed while we had guests and tried to cover up with a blanket and she hated it :/

I haven't yet but I'm going to. I got this awesome bebe au lait nursing cover and used it for the first time today when the inlays were here to nurse and pump - it worked awesome!

Yeah when you have two or morekiddos, NIP is almost always a given. If baby's hungry he's going to eat. I LOVE my nursing tanks too. I live in them.

wtg! I haven't yet with Luke and I only had to do it a couple times with ds and never with dd. Allie has a CT next Tuesday and we will be stuck at the childrens hospital for a few hours. It is over an hour away so he will be hungry a few times while we are there. I will have to do it there and I don't really look forward to it. We are just getting the hang of it finally. I could take a bottle of pumped milk for him but I am trying hard to avoid that so that we can avoid anymore confusion since he is just now finally latching.

I always NIP, ever since I had kids. I'm sure it makes others feel uncomfortable, but I think it's natural.

Way to go to all of you!

That sounds exactly like me, Angela! With Miles I never NIP. I had all the time in the world at home to nurse before we left, and then pump or thaw out some milk for a bottle to bring along with so I wouldn't have to NIP. Well, this time around I just don't have time to be pumping now that I have 2 kids to get out the door. And I really don't want to give her a bottle at all. We went to see the holiday train (train that comes to town with Christmas lights) and I nursed Vivi in the car. Nursed at Babies R Us but they have a mother's room so was in there. Nursed at Culver's. At the in-law's. In front of many friends who have come over to visit (but covered of course) and tonight at my parent's house. And the most awkward of all? Tonight at my parent's house. How does that work?!?! LOL! Both of my parents left the livingroom immediately, it was funny. I am very discreet, not like they saw anything!!

And yes...love nursing tanks. I need to get another one.
