No babies yet.

It looks like we'll be going full term!

Today's NST took FOREVER (1.5 hours!) but they're looking good. My OB promised that one day I would appreciate this even though she knew I didn't want to hear it now ... there's no reason to induce, their fluid levels are looking better and they're perfectly healthy and happy in there. The docs still expect I should go into labor on my own but the final eviction day will be at THIRTY-NINE WEEKS. So I really just need this to happen naturally super super soon.

wow. I'm sure that's not what you wanted to hear. But at this point does it mean no NICU for the babies?

Wow, I can't believe it! Sounds like you're too are perfectly happy to continue to grow. Sucks that the NST took so darn long. That would be a nightmare!

Wow! I am so excited you get to full term! I know you are miserable and would rather them be out now but this really is good news! Hang in there. You're almost done.

What good news.... Although you want those babies out! Is it common to make it this far with twins?

I'll see if I can't find a percentage out of curiosity but I do know that more than half are born before 37 weeks. And considering that my cervix started opening at 26 weeks this is just ridiculous!

ETA: March of Dimes says 54% of twins and 9.6% of singletons are born before 37 weeks.

I was thinking about you today, I noticed you hadn't posted anything yet and wondered if things were happening!! Glad to hear they're both happy in there, but I hope labour gets started very soon for you!

Oh my, you must be so ready!! But it is pretty awesome that they are hanging in there so long. I feel your pain about the NST. I had one last week that lasted forever because baby decided to take a nap...and my stomach felt like it was on fire. I was miserable!

I'm sure you've heard this before, but it's almost over. Can't wait to see pics of those little darlings.

Holy moly that is GREAT Sheila! I know you don't want to hear that but 39 week twins would be amazing! Just think of all the NICU risks you can be avoiding (well already have avoided!). You are doing such a good job baking those babies.

Can you even believe you have made it this long? As uncomfortable and painful as it is at least now you know they will be healthy and take home babies.

I have a good friend from the boards that had her twins at 38w?d and it was an induction (because she was over being pg). She had to be induced twice with the pit turned off at night to let her sleep - the babies just were comfortable and not ready to come out. However, she did have them the next evening and vaginally too! I think she is a great testimony to the strength of twin mommas! Hang in there...your babies will be here sooner than you think.
