I was just curious as to what everybody does? I am an LPN and I work with substance abuse patients at a psychiatric hospital. I love my job. My co-workers are great and the patients, although difficult when they first come in because they are so sick, are actually pretty great as well.
I'm a SAHM. I do work 1-2 nights a week for my father in law (he owns a convenience store) but I haven't been working much since I found out I'm pregnant again...and my shifts are about 4 hours each so really, does that count? I will more than likely be done working there completely once the baby comes.
I also take care of 2 friend's babies -- one on Mondays (she's 16 months), and one on Thursdays (he's 7 months) but will likely be done with that this fall.
SAHM. I've tried working in the past but it just didnt work out. I was WAY more stressed and felt i had so much to catch up on when i worked and i just got tooo crabby. So i'm not workign for the health of myself, and my family.

So lucky! I was a SAHM for the first 16 months of my daughters life. Then I realized that if we wanted to get anywhere in life it was going to take both of us working so I decided to go back to school and get my nursing degree. I love my job but wish I was at home with the kids as I feel like I miss out on ALOT. But we have to have a way to provide for them so it requires both of us to do that and not barely scrape by.
I am first and foremost a SAHM, but I also do a little doula work (I need one more birth to get certified) and am also in training to be a childbirth educator for the Hypnobabies method. I love the career path I am starting on, but I don't want it to take too much time away from raising my kids right now, so I will be limiting how much I do with it for now.
I would give my left arm to be a SAHM, but alas the mortgage would not be able to be paid! I am a concierge at a timeshare resort here in Las Vegas. I love my work, but I would much rather be home caring for my babies and my home...

I work for Early Head Start, which (if you are not familiar) is a federal program aimed at educating parents and children from prenatal to age 3. I supervise 6 home visitors who visit families weekly and educate parents about early child development and how they can be their child's first and most important teacher. It is really rewarding and I have access to tons of infant/toddler and prenatal resources, plus supervisors and co-workers who are extremely supportive. I love my job.
