Had my first real scare yesterday. For some what's ahead may be a little bit too much TMI but here it goes. At work yesterday I went to the bathroom and then proceeded to wash my hands. As I was washing I felt a warm sensation down below. Went back into the stall to check and sure enough my underwear was wet. Not soaked but a spot a little bigger than a quarter in size. So being curious I felt myself and felt this wet stuff all over me. So naturally I freaked. I know it wasn't urine. It had no smell and the urine I had just peed out was concentrated from my inadequate water intake. It had an odor too it but it wasn't a foul odor and it definitely wasn't a urine odor either. My immediate thought was "OMG, I am leaking amniotic fluid." I was leaving for lunch in 10 mins so I wrapped up what I was doing and then called the doc who tells me to come in. I told my supervisors that I had to leave and I left.
I got to the doctors office and had to wait for what seemed like an eternity. They take me back and check the babies heartbeat. Couldn't find it. She went all over my stomach for like 5 mins looking for him. My only relief was in the fact that I could feel him moving so I knew he had a heartbeat. She left and sent someone else in. The new woman found his heartbeat immediately and it was a strong 150. They performed an exam and I wasn't dilated and the did a test to see if I was indeed leaking amniotic fluid. Came back negative. I was so relieved. Doctor said he felt that it was probably just vaginal fluids and he was confident that we were okay. He told me not to hesistate to call if I felt anything was wrong.
Since then no more leaking, baby is moving like crazy and kick this Mommy to death. I am sure that all is well with me and our little guy. In the moment though I was so panic stricken that I seriously had to pull over because I almost hurled all over the place! Crazy how the love for your little one is so deep even when you can't see them.
How scary!!!!
So glad he's okay and you're okay!!!

Oh Jessicah I'm so glad you and your little man are ok! My heart was pounding as I read this! Leaking vaginal fluids? Did he explain any more than that? I've never heard of something like that. I know what it feels like to not know if baby is ok... back a few months when I had that bleeding due to that stupid vaginal medication they gave me and she couldn't find the HB on the doppler, I had to wait about 30 minutes for the U/S tech... by the time I got on the table I was in tears. Anway, I'm so glad everything is ok now!!
