What was your best 4th of July ever celebrated?

I was about 8 years old, and I lived in Florida. We had tons of trees and things around our home, and my dad set off a firework, and when it exploded it caught one of the huge trees in the yard on fire! It was scary but actually pretty funny!

When I was a kid we would always go to the big fireworks display in town. We would park the car and all get out and sit on the hood and just watch. I would always sit on my Dad's lap because my Dad and I love fireworks. He always told me that you can tell from the sound of the firework coming out of the cannon how big and loud it was going to be. For us, the louder the better. We want it to bust your ear drums!! So I can say that going to watch the fireworks with my Dad every year was the best memory for me. I love being able to pass this tradition to my own kids as my daughter loves fireworks. Tonight she kept saying "Here's comes a big one Momma, I heard it thump." LOL I've taught her just as my Dad taught me.

My dh's bday is July 3rd so every 4th of July since we started dating has been great. We usually have a big bday/4th party on July 4th with fireworks, food and lots of friends and family.

However, this year we didn't do a thing and that was pretty great too. LOL
