QOTD-Monday

I haven't seen one of these in awhile and I had a question in my brain.

For those of you who have been BTDT, how long did it take after your first child was born for you to get baby fever again? It doesn't have to be when you decided to actually try for another one, but when did you get that feeling of, "Awww...I want another one!"

For FTMs, are you worried that childbirth will scare you from wanting to go through it all again?

I had baby fever again while I was still in the hospital the first time lol. It took a little longer after dd though because her pregnancy and recovery were harder. I hope it stays away this time since Luke has to be my last.

I know what everyone says...that if labor and delivery were that bad, people would never do it again. My mom said she vividly remembers thinking that she never wanted to do that again after she gave birth to me, but of course she went on to have my 3 siblings. We are planning to have at least one more child, and I know that the pain of childbirth will fade over time, but I do fear, just a little bit, that it will take me a long time to want to put myself through it again.

I was on the fence for a long time. I don't think I got baby fever until he was almost 3 haha. I'm glad I did it again though. I'm enjoying the baby phase so much more this time around; I'm less worried and more experienced and it makes a huge difference!

I dont think I ever got it... But I sure have it now! Luke was only 9 months old when I got preg, so I still had a baby.

Now I have it like crazy!! I can't wait to have Nicholas and to have a newborn again. Seeing baby pics from other moms here! I just can't wait for my turn. I want my baby!!!

Hmm, I'm not worried about being scared to do it a second time. I keep trying to have a very positive mindset going into labour...even if it's just the idea that ignorance is bliss Smile

I got baby fever when Nicholas turned 1 year old and was walking. It was like 'where did my baby go?' and I was ready.

Gosh, after Jacob it was about 2-3 months. Then we got pregnant in the 8 th month. I wanted a bigger spread with Eli so we waited almost a yr to start then this little stinker wasn't planned at all. In fact we were talking about being done and ok with that just days before the BFP.

I think it was probably when Brynna was around 2 that I really started to want another baby. However, it was not good for us financially to add another baby at that time. I have a feeling this time around it will happen to me sooner because as far as DH is concerned we are finished having kids. I just can't bring myself to be final about that just yet. Despite all the things I've been through with this pregnancy I love being a Mommy and can't ever see myself not wanting another one....lol

I don't think pregnancy agrees with me. I think we're adopting Connor's sibling lol. Having PCOS and trying for years to get pregnant was so hard as well. If its meant to be we'll have another or we'll adopt. I'll be happy either way

i was young when i had dd, so didn't really want another for a few years. we got married when she was 5, and we started trying for another right about the time we got married. After DS i think it was a couple years- but we were on the fence about having another. We went through stages of wanting another then not lol So here we are 7.5 yrs later- not planned but a strong believer of everything happens for a reason!! We always had said we wanted 3 kids- so now we will. Tubes are getting tied at the c-section. Hard to make things so final but I think we are good with 3!!

Adoption is something we have thought about too. In fact, we had a very serious discussion about adopting right before I found out I was preggo. Though, I know DH would like to try again for a boy, and I am on board with that, but I always think about how many kids are out there who need good parents. I guess we'll just see where life takes us.

Carrie - you are right...if it was THAT bad there wouldn't be BTDT moms. I specifically remember telling my OB I would never do that again. He was stitching me up and saying he did it extra good so I could VBAC next time and in my mind I just knew I would never ever get pg again. But...here I am and I'm excited about labor again.

As far as baby fever goes I would have small time frames - like hours, not days - when I would think I wanted another baby. That started at the beginning of this year. But when we were faced with the decision to try now or lose the IF benefit I wasn't ready at all but doing it to save money. Then I ended up pg right after and was so excited! Guess I had it more than I really knew.
