I was 18 years old (in 2000) and it was a '93 black Chevy Camero. I was so in love! It was the sexiest car I had ever seen, and because of it I owned two more after that one lol! I miss those days... now I need 8 seats lol!

I was 15 and it was an 87 Ford Ranger. It wasn't pretty but it got me where I needed to go - and it was free because my dad bought it for me.

You never hear this anymore. My grandmother adn great grandmothers didnt learn to drive or get their licenses until their 30's either.

AFM: i used my parents car they bought used just before i got my license at 16. It was a VW Scirocco(?) 2 door hatchback with sunroof. It had 300K miles on it. I was able to use it for about 2 yrs before it died.

I honestly wouldn't have ever done it if we hadn't had kids. I was scared so much of the test and I still really don't enjoy driving. I finally did it so my kids could go to school and do things other than only when dh was home. I am glad I did, but I was almost sock with nerves that day and still feel that way if I have to drive somewhere I haven't before.

My uncle gave my parents a 9-year-old 2-door Honda Accord when he upgraded to a new one, so they gave it to me-- spring semester of my senior year in undergrad. Until then, I'd relied on using their vehicles when I was home, or my own zapatos-mobiles when I was at school.

It lasted me for 10 years, and would have lasted much longer, except I had DS1, and needed a 4-door. Traded it in with 250K miles on it. Awesome car. Would have loved to have gone with another Honda, but they still hadn't figured out how to place cupholders conveniently over the course of 20 years... Blum 3
