Are any of you baby wearing? If so, what do you use?
I'm not currently and never have before, but after checking out the babywearing board on here I was looking at the Moby's and think they're pretty great looking! I think I'm going to get the navy one for Trystan. How great would it be to not have to push a stroller around all of the time!
I have a moby i use a few times per week and dh just started using our ergo. Krystal- if you want to save some money you can google homemade moby and make one yourself! it looks easy but i got a great deal on a used moby
I definitely won't/can't wear both babies, but if my boyfriend and I go out together we usually wear the babies because otherwise it's just way too much crap to carry and a ridiculous stroller. We have an ergo, a bjorn, and a moby. My boyfriend finds that the ergo is best for my tiny tiny girl and so we only ever use the bjorn with my boy. I was super intimidated by the moby and thought it was going to be difficult, but it's actually by FAR my favorite. For now anyway -- that might change as they get older/bigger. It's so easy to put on and keep on even if I take the baby out, like at the pediatrician or something, and it's definitely the most comfortable with the baby's weight spread out some. Around the house we also sometimes use a sling but ours isn't adjustable so it's not the greatest. If I had one baby I would for sure forgo the stroller much of the time and use a moby. It's great just wearing the baby in the house to shush them up, too.
I did the homemade Moby type wrap with Lindsay, and I liked it okay at the time. I think the fabric I got was too stretchy or too lightweight or something though. I ordered an actual Moby this time around (my old fake one was pink...didn't think that would cut it with this little guy. Not that he would care, but DH probably would. LOL). I got it on sale from BRU. Anyway, I like the real deal a lot better so if you have the extra money you may just want to go for that!
We have a stretchy wrap, I think it's like a Moby. It was handmade though and the fabric is maybe too stretchy. Elaina is almost 13 lbs and she doesn't stay in it too well lol. So we also have an Ergo that we use with the infant insert, that is our most used carrier. We also have a mei tai but I haven't figured out how to use it yet. And I have a sling type carrier but it tends to fold her up into a weird position that makes her spit up a lot lol. And I ADORE my awesome stroller so half the time I just forgo all my carriers haha. But I do love wearing her
Not so much this time. I have a moby, but I haven't put Luke in it that much. I need to though because it would help me out so much in the evenings when he is so cranky.
I do if I really need to get something done or at the store. I have many baby wearing things but I tend to reach for the ktan.
I have a k'tan, Moby, Action Baby and Ergo. Rory is so big that the Ergo is most comfortable but he's at a weird size even for that. He's really too long for the infant insert but his head control isn't 100% for no infant insert. So I can wear him in it for fast trips but another month or two and the Ergo or Action Baby will be perfect to cart him around. With 2 I imagine I'll use them a lot more
I use a k'tan but not often, I prefer a stroller. Lately my back hurts all the time so I can only wear her for short periods of time.
I wear Connor when we go to the store, because he is heavy on his own but with his car seat forgetaboutit. I use an Ellaroo and I love it.
I have a moby and now an Ergo, Kai loves the Moby, and so far hates the Ergo, but I am gonna keep trying!
I have a sleepy wrap, a Mei Tai Baby, and a ring sling. I use the first two a lot at home (at least once a day) because Claire likes to be held 24/7 and sleeps best when on someone. I use the RS almost every time we go someplace, its so easy to throw on and i love having my hands free when shopping or out at a restaurant. I've even nursed her in the RS while shopping and no one noticed a thing. I find the MTB is the most comfortable and its quick and easy to tie after you wear it a couple times.
This is her in my RS at our Valentine's Day lunch yesterday
They claim that wearing baby will lead to less fussing later in the day. Honestly I haven't noticed a difference and Claire gets worn at some point almost every day. Worth a try tho
Yup, I have a handmedown woven wrap that you tie similar to a Moby. I love it and so does Ryan (most of the time). He is not that big on being held all the time, he seems quite happy in his swing often so I don't use it daily anymore. But during his most fussy period I used it all the time. it was the only thing that always quieted him down. I still use it when I go for walks and if he's fussy, or if he wants entertainment and I have to get housework done. It's so handy.
I read the Moby is only good to about 20 lbs because it's stretchy. My friend still carried her 1 yr old in a woven wrap on her back so it's a little more versatile. Hers was a Didymos - it's expensive though. You could easily make a woven wrap yourself for a fraction of the cost.
