What is your "horrible boss" moment?

Mine is not one, I feel like it's all the time! I swear every day that I come into work my boss is crawling all over my back about SOMETHING that I've done wrong, or that I should do differently... and I'm so over it.

My boss is totally crazy but she doesn't hold a flame to some of my old bosses. She is just sort of quirky and gets a little excited sometimes. I would say her horrible boss moment of the year was waiting 2 months to tell me if I have maternity leave benefits, and then making it standard for everyone thereafter. I guess I should feel good that it is now a standard benefit because of me, but she put me through some hell during that time!

I'm on-call 24/7, have to clean my boss' poo, remind him to go peepee in the bathroom, feed him six bowls of cereal every morning (and man, does he get cranky when I try and give him the wrong cereal!), bathe him once or twice a day (depending on whether or not he decided to throw dirt in his hair that particular day), put him down for a nap when he gets cranky, and chauffeur him around. But the benefits are pretty sweet... Biggrin

Haven't had a "horrible boss" moment in a while. When I first started at my old workplace, though, my boss-at-the-time was definitely a beta male in a workplace dominated by strong women. Biggrin I'm used to hanging out with strong, confident guys who have nothing to prove. But this guy wouldn't stand up for the people under him, even when there was some pretty awful racial-stuff-combined-with-internal-power-play going on that needed to be seriously squelched. If he had something that he didn't like or needed changed, he'd email me, instead of walking the five feet between our desks, or asking me to walk the five feet between our desks, and having a conversation face-to-face. He'd ask for something to be done without conveying his mental timeline... and if I didn't drop everything to take care of it right that moment, he'd end up doing it himself (right in front of me!) fifteen minutes later without a word. His kids would try to walk over me, too, since they knew their dad was my boss... I didn't let that fly. Wink There were a million-and-one little things that rankled at the time, but were never worth remembering... but I do remember feeling upset because he was like a guy with power who had no idea what to do with it, or how to weight it, or how to wield it effectively.

Ultimately, he got a job elsewhere and transferred out, and I ended up getting musical-chaired into his job. Did a pretty good job, since I treated my subordinates like actual adults, lol. Then I left when I had DS1, and back to the high-school micromanaging drama with my successor, according to the word-on-the-street... had my people begging me to come back, lol.

Miles is your boss Blum 3

I don't have a horrible boss moment with my current boss - he is seriously the best boss anyone could ask for.

In the past I had a boss that was a real sleaze ball and totally sexually harassed me every day even when I told him to stop. I was only there 6 weeks because I hated him so bad.

Um, everyday. How can I work when I get 20 emails a day all demanding something different by 3:00 that day?

Ughhhh... she is nice, though, and I do like my kids.....

My boss was ok to work for. However as a human she was sad. When I told her about how Tony and I had tried to get pregnant she said "that some people weren't mean to be parents" and when I told her I was pregnant she mentioned to someone else about "the timing sucks for me, I hope she gets back to work fast after she has it"

and that is why I quit!

Please tell me you told her that was why you were quitting! What a jerk!

My current boss is the socially-challenged grandson of the person that founded the company. Need I say more? =/
