Trystan will sleep in a bassinet on my side of the bed. I haven't bought it yet (the one I had for all three of my other babies, my friend GAVE IT AWAY after I let her use it with her last baby... arrggghhhh), but I have a cute one in mind!

My bed! Loved cosleeping with my first... I would just leave my top off and nurse her in the night without even having to get up. Which is good, sleepless nights don't work so well for me!

In the pack n play or bassinet right by my bed for a few weeks and then in the crib.

Planning to do the co-sleeper for the first few months, and hopefully have her in her crib in her own room by 6 months.

They'll be in a co-sleeper or similar next to the bed until they don't fit.

This! Except last time my ex was working nights & Ed isn't so I think that may throw a wrench in it. Sad

We will have a bassinet in our room for the first couple of months and then hopefully he will be sleeping in his own crib after.

In the cradle next to the bed until she sleeps through the night (DD was about 1 month). then a crib in her own room.

In her crib in her room - which is literally right next to our room.

les- With my first DH was in the bed too.. I put baby on my side, not the middle. Rolling off wasn't an issue because she gravitated to my warmth. (I had a pillow on the other side just in case.) We did have a spare bed in the other room where dh could retreat to if got too hot or cramped for some reason, but wasn't used that often.

Good to know. And it'll be winter & dh is a cuddler & has been really interested (or at least acting so) in this pregnancy so I think he will want to be right there....at least in the beginning.

I did the same thing with DS on and off. I bought a rail for my side of the bed and put Deacon between me and the rail with Dh on the other side of me. It was great to actually stay in bed all night and not get up to pick up my crying baby.

it just feels so natural to not have to get up in the night!! All other mammals sleep with their young, so it's funny that more humans don't find it instinctual! I couldn't even imagine putting her in another room.. I'd lose sleep just feeling compelled to go peek on her I'm sure

Awww, it's my SO's (accidently said "dh" last post) thrid, but his son is almost 17 now & SO was young so that experience was much different & long forgotten. He also had a dd shortly after that, but she was sick & passed away at 4yo.

I was hoping to be able to give him another girl b/c I REALLY, REALLY wanted him to truly fall in love at some point in his life. Does that make sense? His girl is on the way & he is terrified she is going to break his heart. He's probably right.

I wish I could but our nursery is at the opposite end of the house and I would never get any sleep. We tried that with DS and I laid awake all night watching the monitor to make sure he was breathing.

Yea, our nursery is down the hall, but until he sleeps through the night, there's no way that I'm walking all the way down there in the dark in the middle of the night every two hours lol! I much rather prefer to sit up, grab him from the bassinet, feed, and put him right back... no standing required! I wouldn't mind him sleeping in our bed, either, especially since DH and I can't do anything for 6 weeks anyway! I just wouldn't want him to get too used to that...

Emily will sleep in a handmade cradle for the first month or so next to our bed. I'm sure in the middle of the night she will end up in bed next to me though for feedings. The cradle that she will sleep in is the same one that Nicholas, DH slept in as a baby, and also his mom...it's a family heirloom.

We will have a pack n play bassinet or cradle of some sort next to the bed for the first few weeks. Then we will move her into her crib, but we have bought a "mini crib" and it will fit next to our bed too. She will probably stay in our roomuntil at least nine months.
