Long weekend?! People get off a work day for Veteran's Day?

Tomorrow is Deacon's 3rd birthday so we have plans tomorrow and Saturday for that. Sunday I plan to clean up my house and do a whole lot of nothing.

My boyfriend got a long weekend last weekend for another holiday so that's when we got loads of baby readying done! This weekend I'll just be keeping babies in, I mean, unless I'm pushing them out?

I'm working as I do every Wed-Sat....lol No special holidays for this girl. That's one of the downfalls of a hospital. We are open 24/7 365 days a year.

I'm taking tomorrow and Monday off (but only bc I'm using up my PTO before baby comes). I told DH I wanted to get the sweeping, mopping, dusting and vacuuming done. Steam clean carpet in master bedroom and bathroom. Clean all the bathrooms. Turn on the drip system in the backyard. Take DS to see Santa. Put up the tree. Pack my hospital bag. We are also taking the car in for a recall and going grocery shopping, and I hope I can go to a movie or lunch with just me and DH. Let's see if I really get all that done! OHHH, and wrap all the christmas presents.

Thank you. Its killing me. Like I really get all weepy when I think of my baby turning 3. He is growing up so fast. I'm sure you feel that way too about Liberty.

Ed & I are supposed to go on a Charles Bukowski tour of LA on Saturday, but it's supposed to rain all day & now he may have to go to a funeral. =/ It's supposed to be an anniversary of sorts for us, but to tell you the truth I just don't give a sh** about our relationship at this point.

The plan this weekend is to get the bassinet into our bedroom and do the finishing touches on the baby room and get some organizing done around the house. And catch up on some sleep.

Ditto here! We are also going out for a bit of shopping to get the necessities we still need. We were planning to go to State College to shop, bit since there is all kinds of craziness happening there with the Penn State sex abuse scandal, we will be heading to a different city.

Pack the hospital bag, priority number one haha! Fix the car seat install, and return the mat (didn't realize those were totally not allowed!). Return some books to the library, pick up the last baby item (3 natural skin care products). Oh, i need to pick up some cheap sweats and a robe for labour/hosptial. Finish any tidying around the house and take some stuff away to our storage locker...that will probably be enough for Saturday. Sunday I will probably do a huge grocery shop with DH so I can precook a ton of freezer meals over the week!!

Lesley....I hope all is okay!! :bigarmhug:

Thank you ladies. Yes, I am fine. Just grumpy & a little resentful at the moment.

It's kind of been off & on all pregnancy. It's been extremely difficult for me to accept all the changes our relationship has experienced since getting pregnant. A lot has changed & I have begged him to make it go back to the way it was. Our relationship isnt even a year old yet & courtship is over, etc. I know we crazy love each other, but we used to be that couple & now we are just a couple. I kind of just finally accepted it this morning & was not all that happy about it. I know I have to bc bigger changes are coming.

I'm okay. Sorry for the negativity ladies.

Lesley, I think that's always a difficult place to be in relationships and a difficult realization to come to. Add the fact that you're expecting and things aren't going well financially for you guys, well, I think it's perfectly normal to feel the way you do. You have a lot of stress to deal with right now.

I had to learn the really hard way that the warm fuzzies of relationships really don't last that long, and with my current DH, they faded pretty quickly, but with each big hurdle we conquer or each disappointment we face, it brings us closer in a completely different way. Sometimes we have periods when we barely talk to each other and sometimes there are moments when the warm fuzzies are alive and well. But no matter what, we keep moving forward knowing that each new day will bring change.

Ok, I hope that didn't sound too sappy. Just hang in there. I know it's hard, especially now when pregnancy has us all feeling a bit out of sorts. Hope you're feeling better soon.

1st- Lesley :bigarmhug:

2nd-

I have to work today so it isn't a long weekend for me. Tonight we are going to a college basketball game, tomorrow is a birthday party, Sunday is family Christmas photos. I want to get some nesting done this weekend Smile Also I was invited to a Tastefully Simple party and plan to go and indulge on all the yummy food!

Couldn't have said this any better!! I have been with my husband since we were kids. We were 18 and 19. We essentially grew up together and have faced alot of hardships. I agree that it's hard for the romance and butterflies to wear off but the love is what remains and that is what is important. This is just one of those hurdles that every couple faces. It's what you do with your relationship after the butterflies that will show if you can stand the real test of time.

Hugs Lesley :bigarmhug:

I work mon-thurs- so normally get a long weekend. But my plans are to go to the big craft show with my mom and sister today while Dh and his dad are putting in a new door today.

And for the rest of the weekend not too much. I plan to finish my baby blanket I am knitting- only 20 more rows and I am done!!

Lesley - I hate when relationships get to that point. The butterflies have long gone and the excitement just fizzles. However, some times it just means that you have gotten so comfortable with each other and are in a perfect groove. And FWIW, I still tell Jus I wish he would hold my hand sometimes or just hold me...so its not just you. He blames it on me for never being a touchy feely type girl.

Thanks again. I am such a mess today. I am sitting at work just crying. I feel like I can't stop. I don't think it's just him, or us, or whatever....it's just EVERYTHING. I will be fine. I know I just need a good cry, just wish it wasn't at work. =/ Thank goodness I'm in an office alone for the most part. I would leave, but I have just taken so much time off b/c of my cold. Grrr!!

Sometimes a good cry is just what you need. We are crazy, pregnant ladies right now. Let it out girlfriend.

For sure! I can't rationalize anything I do right now except to say "I'm pregnant!"
