Are you on maternity leave yet? If not, when are you going?
I was just going to work up until I went into labor, but with the amount of pain that I'm in and the fact that my OB said that they would most likely induce me by the 26th if baby hadn't come before then, Monday will be my last day working. I work Thursday-Monday and have Tuesday and Wednesday off, and then with Thursday being Thanksgiving, there's no point in working that day (which I would have to!) and possibly Friday. I'm so done... I would just be done as of Saturday (our work week ends on Saturdays) but of course one of the other concierge is going out of town so I have to work...
Yup! Well, it's been 10 weeks of disability. I'll take ~18 more weeks when they get here.
I plan for my last work week to be the one before Christmas.
This is all very iffy though. Ed will need to be working for this to happen. Also, I feel like this girl may come early, but that might just be wishful thinking on my part.
I plan on working right up until Ryan is born. I only have 7 weeks of paid leave due to vacation and sick time that I have accumulated and that's all the time I will get off. So I want every precious second of those weeks to be spent holding my son instead of sitting at home waiting for him to get here.
I too will be working until she comes. I only have 4 weeks of paid leave saved up.
I've been on medical leave since mid-October. My 1 year of maternity leave will kick in the day she's born. Im very thankful that I get all this time!
I am done! I was supposed to work this weekend and Thanksgiving but I switched for shifts earlier in the month. I am SO GLAD that I made those changes. I am therefore officially done
I'm in a similar boat as you, Jessicah. I am planning to take about 8 weeks of leave, part of it will be sick time I've accumulated and part of it will be paid by short-term disability. I am planning to work right up to the end so that I can spend as much time as possible with the baby after she's born.
I've been 1/2 time since last week and am planning on working until the day before Thanksgiving. However, I now have a major sinus infection and I have had to call in sick the past two days! I'm miserable....I hope I can make it longer.
Congratulations to all the ladies that are done!! So envious of you.
Let's kick some butt....or at least drag our butts around the office & act like we are paying attention until we are done. lol
I am almost done work! YEAH!! I normally work 4 days 10 hrs a day, but took a vacation day next thurs so for the next two weeks I work mon-wed and then done. I wanted the time to get ready and am so sore this time around,as in my previous pregnancies I worked till two weeks before the baby came. I get the year off and can't wait.
I just calculated.... I have 4.5wks left ~~ or 23 days!!
WOO-FREAKIN-HOO....that sounds so doable.
I wish I knew when he was going to be here so I could calculate....lol
I was working before Corinna was born and I worked up until the Thursday of the week she was born (on Saturday) and she was two weeks late on the dot.
Now I'm a Stay at home Mom (which can be a lot harder when pregnant), but my parents-in-law will be taking Corinna the first weekend of December in hopes that we have the baby while she's gone for a couple of weeks, so that's kind of like maternity leave. I definitely want her back by Christmas, though, so I sure hope this baby makes her appearance early and not late!
I was supposed to start it on Dec 27th - when I have my csection...but I am leaning more towards a VBAC now so just whenever she gets here is when I will start it.
Awesome that you may try the VBAC!
Yep. About a week or so ago I just had the strong desire to do it. Now seeing DH struggle to recover from a surgery just makes me want to try even more. Pain meds, side effects from surgery in general, etc - I just don't want to go through it or put my family through it. Granted, my last csection was a breeze and my recovery was great, but why bother if I can VBAC? I'll be talking to my OB about it Monday. He said he will let me go until Jan 9 without a csection.
I'm hoping Dec 20th or 21st will be my last day of work. I plan on staying at home until March 1st.
Jenn- awesome about the VBAC!
....or at least drag our butts around the office & act like we are paying attention until we are done. lol
This is exactly what I do every single day. I'm just putting in time at this point and have completely mentally checked out.
