So I've been driving myself crazy wondering when baby will make his appearance! As I posted a few days ago, I'm just 37 weeks today (yay for baby being full term lol!) and I'm measuring 41 weeks and dilated 3CM already. My question is, do any of you know of a certain number dilated you need to be for them to just admit you to the hospital, even if you're not having any contractions? Do you think it just depends on the OB or MW? I know they factor in if you're a BTDT mom or not, as you're much more likely to have a speedier L&D with a subsequent baby. Do any of you have any personal stories where you were dialated a specific amount without any signs of labor and they sent you over to be induced? With my second baby I went in for my regular appt (at 39 weeks) and had gone from 2CM the week before to 5CM, so he sent me straight over to be induced, for fear of me going home, my water breaking, and me not being able to make it back to the hospital in time. This was a different OB than I have now, so I'm just wondering if anyone else had any input? My biggest fear (well, aside from him being a gigantor baby and not being able to push him out lol) is not making it to the hospital in time, as this is baby #4! As I'm typing this out it is kind of silly, as I know baby will just come when he's ready, but I'm just trying to prepare myself (and take my mind off of how utterly uncomfortable I am!).
